Why do cops allow such loud bikes?

"MA and NH have issued dB meters to police in many towns."

Hmmm, didn't know you could actually measure "decibels" only sound pressure levels "SPL". ;)

Did you know that zero SPL is the equivalent of a mouse fart in Moscow? :haha:

out here it is a fix it ticket and nothing more. So why bother. IF they pull you over for something else they will try to harass you about.

Hey...NOW you're onto something. Maybe when people get pulled over, they should ask the LEO why he/she doesn't cite Bust for having a flatulant mouse in his rectum. Maybe we as a nation could end all the needless suffering for all those poor little meeces.

Why don't we all complain to the cops we are sick of listening to whiny *******s.
Somebody forcing you to read these threads? I'm sick of listening to mobile noise polluters who force their "expressions of individuality" on everybody in a half-mile radius.

A somewhat informative local article.

While some bikers revel in the sound, others justify it by saying it protects them from inattentive motorists. “Loud pipes save lives,” is their mantra.
Nonsense, says Fresno motorcycle Sgt. Eric Eide, who rides an ultra-quiet BMW. “Straight pipes are hugely offensive,” he said. “It’s a quality-of-life issue.”
Loud pipes get passed.

Scott Maddox, who was standing near his Harley-Davidson on Olive Avenue, didn’t think it was fair to single out motorcycles.
“I don’t know if it’s any more noise than when a city bus goes by,” he said.
Whatta tool. I've never heard a city bus go by from 400 yards away....
