Hey I'm not bitter. I just gotta smile (this time I had to post) when I keep seeing 145 HP posted up as this bikes claim to fame. Follow those ad exec's propaganda! They love it!

I've owned 145 HP bikes at the wheel, and this ain't one of 'em. I've owned 100HP bikes (at the wheel, THEY claimed 125 HP in the ads) and this feels more like that.

FWIW I've got close to 20K on an '04 and I do enjoy this bike. Took a 3500 mile trip last summer in 4 1/2 days. It's pretty comfy and I can carry gear.

I still only consider it adequate in the power department, and if the new Beemer had been available in '04. I would definitly have looked at it. With an open mind too. I have no brand loyalty. I just like Motorcycles, but I calls 'em like I see's 'em.

So to sum it all up This is not, and I say again, not, a 145 HP bike

I think you meant BAMBIE ! :bleh: I think it was a 9mm

The vast majority of my bikes have been Yamaha's. The FJR is everything I wanted my XS1100 Special to be. :D

And an R1 isn't 185 hp at the wheel so everyone that has one better send it back :D

We all know that it isn't rear wheel but it is common knowledge that is what is referred to. I have no problem with a 125hp rear wheel bike either.

At least it isn't a 90hp VTwin with 72 rear wheel :D

And I am not referring to a Harley I am referring to my old 1100 Vstar, thank you very much :D Harley would be lucky to get that much

Just listen to you guys. If I didn't know you were talking about an FJR I would think this was a **** site.

"She sat on it and said this feels good!"

She said buy this one and I said yes ma'am"

"my butt feels good"

"when out on a solo ride" <San Francisco!

"Shaft Drive"

"makes my heart go pitter patter"

"a dime a dozen in LaLa Land"

"Lke goldielocks said, This is just right"

"Tweener"?

"Harley would be lucky to get that much"

I could go on and on but I want to "go for a ride" See what I mean. I can't even turst myself. ;)

No, no, no.........

I really DO mean Barbie !!

Warchild Does Barbie

1. Wanted a bike that could handle touring, commuting AND be lively in the twisties.

2. Previous experience with Yamaha.

3. Write ups of Supersport tourers consistently had the FJR as top dog.

4. Break the routine that girls only ride cruisers.

Now that I've got the bike, I like it even more than expected. It's all I wanted it to be, and more. DH has borrowed it several times, preferring it's weather protection and smooth ride over his Warrior.

Had some issues with my (lack of) height vs. 31.7" seat height but where there is a will, there is a way. Short people can ride tall bikes, if they want to badly enough.
