If your really concerned about security, you would be better off installing an alarm with a pager.
I hear you can get LoJack for bikes nowadays too...
You're exactly right, most dealer’s will install lojack for a couple of 3 or 4 hundred bucks and as I understand it, there's no monthly fee. It's a one time cost...Sounds like a great deal to me, as personally, I choose to carry just the basic liability insurance which runs around $75-$90/yr, as letting the Ins Co's steal your money for full coverage is sorry alternative........I'll let lojack take care of the theft issue....

P.S. If you finance with Yamaha Financial, all they require is liability insurance........that's a $3-4K savings at least over 5 years...which will be about all your bike's worth then at most!!!

Well now you know for sure no one can steal your bike. Come on guys don't relish so much enjoyment out of his dumping his brand new bike -- "there but for the grace of God". C.R.

Dickf, Dickf, Dickf.... Hmmmm... Arizona... Dropped bike... SKOOTER! You got an AE! Dayem, way to christen it! Did Art help? :haha:

If you can, look at it in this perspective, I'd still be ahead of the game if I did dump the bike the first year of ownership barring totaling it...Don't think so huh? Well, let's compare what would happen to me with a $75yr liability only vs you with a $700/yr policy for full coverage........

I've got $625 in my pocket in my back pocket to pay for any repairs your not gonna have..but you might want to turn in a claim huh? BWWWHHAAAAA Now, first of all, don't forget the $250-500 deductible you're gonna be out too....And oh yea,,,when you call your agent, he's gonna recommend you not turn in a claim unless the damages exceed your deductible by another say $500-$1,000 cause a claim on a high performance bike could very easily result in rate increases equaling or exceeding that over the next 3 years....

You want to guess how I know what he's gonna tell you?

And I want even go into the financial aspects of the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of ownership......

In otherwords I don't adhere to the "I NEED TO GIVE ALL MY MONEY TO SOME INSURANCE COMPANY SO NO ONE CAN GET MY MONEY" attitude Insurance Co's and thier agents want you to subscribe to...

From now on I am going to sequester the bike key in a place that will remind me to unlock the cable (maybe).
For Pete's sake, Kryptonite sells a $5 twisty cable that raps around the throttle and if need be, stretches down to the cable/lock. A perfect reminder.
