Just got off the phone with an Innovate Motor Sports tech and long and short is the LC-2 or LC-1 simply won't work on an FJR with this floating ground not being in common with the power ground, end of story. He suggested connecting the two together and I told him I tried but screwed up the idle. He did say that this is not an issue with BMW for this reason. Then he went on to say that if I would have called him first and described the FJR ECU ground system for sensor inputs he would have told me it wouldn't have worked. He also said that this type of thing is showing up more and more in newer vehicle technology.
I thought an LC-1 might work because it has two separate leads one for power ground and one for signal ground but he said both these leads were tied together internally within the LC-1 so no joy there.
I give up. Looks like if you want to modify fueling on your FJR the Power Commander is it, I'll take a pass.
