About a month or so I seriously considered going south for the DV Wildflower ride. I couldn't/didn't make it for a number of reasons. Given all the rain in California this year I really wanted to get down there
knowing how spectacular the high desert can be during a rainy year. Unfortunately I just couldn't swallow the thought of slabbing it for 6 hours each way just for a few million wildflowers.
Given all that it occurred to the genius in me the other day that the same rains that will give the desert an unbelievably bounty of wildflowers will do the same right here in my backyard.
About the same time, Puppychow was looking for riding partners and expressed a desire to stay away from the Lake Berryessa/Napa area. Something about BTDT. Well, I've BTDT for about 10 years now
and wondered if there was something I was missing that kept drawing me back. So with two goals in mind, to identify Puppychow's aversion to the area and to experience some backyard wildflowers,
I set out this morning.
The pictures that follow will try to address both concerns. Understand that with near perfect roads and absolutely perfect weather I didn't start taking pictures until about noon.
Enjoy.
Okay, so maybe we don't have the best roads, but Puppychow said he also rode an SV for the goat trails, so I don't really see a problem
Maybe he just doesn't like pipe smokers. Yes,,, I spelled pipe correctly. To you perverts out there it is not spelled p-o-l-e.
I see nothing wrong with this road.
Following, without commentary are a few wildflower pics.
In Puppychow's defense, he does live in Folsom, which is at least an hour's ride from my backyard. And being from Folsom he has some of the best scenic riding in his own backyard.
But still, it's pretty hard not to love Spring in this part of California.
And after a ride like that, it's still good to go Home Sweet Home.
Thanks for coming along.
