Will I be laughed at if I trailer to EOM?

Have an order in for an 08 FJR with D&H that is scheduled to be here the first to mid September. I may not be able to get up there until the weekend of EOM and it is closer than driving home to FL (and half of driving home and then riding back to EOM). Was thinking about driving up on Wed to D&H, over to the EOM on thursday and then have Fri - Sun to ride, heading home on Monday. I'd have to ride with the slow group on day one to help scrub in tires and be extra careful since it is a new bike (although I had an 05 FJR that I sold in 2007 so I am familiar with riding an FJR). Of course I may be a few miles over the 600 mile break in by the time I head home. just wanted to make sure you guys would still ride with me if I pulled in with it on a trailer.

Oh, wow... You insult the EOM attendees by suggesting that there will be a 'slow group' and then have the audacity to ask if you'll get DP'd for trailering?

I shall sit back and enjoy the show. ;)

:p

Yes, albeit mildly to your face in a good humor kind of way...

But we'll be brutal behind your back :)

----

Seriously though, we'd rather have you there via trailer than not there at all.

TwoWheelNut -

I deserve that - maybe I should have said the more responsible group? - No offense intended in this or the last post, just poor wording from typing quicker than my brain was working this evening.

Just get yerself a Beanie Helmet, a buncha Chrome thingies, some tats and attitude an tell 'em ya made a wrong turn on the way to the "Rally"

You'll be welcomed with sympathetic arms. Though you will be severely "dissed" behind your back.

Yeah, I'm that kinda guy

:jester:

Just come in after dark and park the trailer around behind the dumpster with the Gold Wings. :p

Look, if you're planning on trailering to EOM, then you will have an over-abundance of rubber on that rear tire. So, as long as we get a few turns doing burn-outs in the parking lot, there will be no humiliation cast your direction.

Lest you think he jokes, count the crash club badges and think again! :p

Green,

I ain't gonna dis you too hard on the trailer thing...

But,

Why not leave the trailer at home and get to know that Black Beauty and ride her pants off!!

WW

Ship your gear to D&H, fly in, get the scoot and ride to EOM and then back home. More fun and no harassment.

Simple, NO?

I have not test-ridden an '08 yet.

I'll set your suspension and break the tires in for you if you like, while you get the trailer buttoned up. All without leaving the parking lot.

:)

Another real option, would be to fly in and pick up your bike Wednesday. Stay over at my house Wednesday night. (I'm just a couple hours from D & H) Thursday, we'll ride out, hook up with Fencer, Jwilly, and the other Georgia boys, and ride that beast to EOM. Heck, I'll bring you an OEM filter and we'll get some oil when we get there for the 600 mile change. The tires will be scrubbed in and Jeff will dial that suspension in at EOM. By the time you get back home, you will be some deep love with your FJR.

+1

you beat me to it

A plane ticket will cost much less than all the gas you will burn from Fl to WV and back. ESP if pulling a trailer.

If you trailer it....

They will LAUGH :p

Actually,

On second thought,

His "responsible riding" may add a few hours to the trip up :assassin: ;) :D

Was it last year or the year before where an EOM attendee trailered his bike and while doing so was passed by a group of Harley's on the slab? <_<

As long as you could stand that thought forever etched in your memory, trailer away. Kidding of course, it does not matter how you get there cause once there you gonna be on two wheels...though I do have to say Scab's offer sounds like a hell of a deal and makes sense...I applaud his hospitable offer :clapping:

What S76 said.

Further I add:

Nice trailer........*****!

Fly out, do a moto man break in and return to the dealer for an oil/filter change. Ride, baby, ride.
