I have put a C Bailey Monsterflow Eurocut on the bike, and it seems the left side of the windshield is lower than the right. the moving brackets appear a little lower/closer to the fairing than the right in the fully retracted position. Yes, I have raised/lowered the windshield at over 50mph. Any ideas on a easy fix???

Is there a problem with raising or lowering the windshield at over 50 mph? I don't remember anything about this in the owner's manual. I do it all the time with my stock windshield. Or does this become a problem when you put the big windshields on?

There was a thread on the other website re this issue. Apparently the technical literature states not to raise/lower the windshield at over 50mph.

Hogwash! I have never seen anything like that. If that info was true, I am sure Yammie would have made it obvious, and it would have been discussed ad naseum by this point.

As for your off-kilter shield, thats a bummer, and not being there to see it, I have no idea how to help you. Strange. Only thing I can think of is that one of your mounting arms is bent?

Hey, Scoot

+1 on the "hogwash." I raise/lower my stocker at 50+ all the time...no problemo.

I just thought that there's something I've missed in the manual.

Yeah, I'd be interested to hear that too. I'm 53 and figured I could never raise/lower the windscreen again!

FJRSanDiego:

You may want to remove the CB and compare the location of the drilled mounting holes to your stock screen. There's a chance that CB's messed up the fabrication of your screen (your's wouldn't be the first) and the holes are not drilled in the correct orientation relative to the bottom of the screen. This is not to say that the 5 holes don't all line up perfectly with the mounting bracket holes, I'm thinking that the screen may have been held down incorrectly when the factory drilled them. They normally set the screen down and drill all the holes at the same time so that they are always in the correct orientation, but if the screen isn't set down in the correct position, all the holes will be in the correct orientation, but not in the correct location, resulting in your tilt.

My Rifle shield is also out of whack, however, it is due to the raising/lowering arms being a little twisted from me dropping her on the left side.

Raised and lowered at 140+mph (on a closed course) without any side effects, even twisted as it is.

My screen is not off kilter but I never go that fast except on a closed course as well.......

Is it off center in a "side-to-side" plane, or is it off center on a "twisted" plane.

If its "side-to-side", I'd try loosening all the screws to see if you could straighten it a little, then re-tighten.

If it seems twisted, measure the space between the body work and the windshield brackets to see if on side is in fact lower than the other--remembering that 1/32"-1/16" at the bracket could be a much greater amount at the top of a +4 windshield.

I believe it is side-to-side... the left side is just a smidgen lower than the right side. It really does not bother me that much, especially in the fully down position. I am just a symetry nut...

I will try to reposition it

Thanks for all your comments/help

Mark :D
