What took you so long?

I knew when you bought the KTM what you really wanted was a GSA.

It's only money, Smitty, and you can not take it with you.

I knew it!!!!

You silly little boy!

I need to start a pool for when you will once again buy an FJR.

I will say that I have been jonesing for a R1200GS for quite some time, and apparently the changes for 2008 have made it all the better. Have you seen the latest MCN which compared the 1200GS vs. the KTM 990 Adventure? Damn, buy it, ride it out here, and lets go for a ride. I'll even allow you ride my prized, crashed 3 times, 150k+ dirty ol whore of an FJR.

BTW, I am always torn, but I would most likey go with the non-adventure model. Apparently the non-A handles quite a bit better without all the extra weight on the front. Still, a tough call.

You know if yer gonna change bikes this often, you ought to atleast work for a mcy mag so you can post reviews and get paid for it. :)

Just let me know what machine I am to look for when I come down to visit later this fall... B)

I just talked to him and he sounded sick as his avatar, I guess he was in a hurry to get to the BMW dealer..

Sorry Richard for making our phone chat short, Having a coughing nightmare....

This is a neat bike, but the cost of ownership is very high $19,200. Add a set of side bags and a top box and your kicking another $1700. bucks.

My big brother Darrell snapped this pic, and sent it to me. I think they spiked my coffee with some of there kool-aid and had thinking crazy thought.

Maybe someday, I wonder if there is a place to carry a extra final drive? :dribble: Smitty

in addition to the above, the rest of the Farkling will bankrupt you.

cool bike though but been there done that. (the BMW thingy that is, my R90s and my ratty GS with suffice)

BMW means Broken Motor Works.

Been there, done that. Have some friends that tried it, also. Plenty of folks still choosing the hard way, though.

Have fun!

If I am ever able to afford to have multiple bikes, I would get a GSA and a Goldwing. Smitty just needs to figure out how to keep them all, instead of trading them in.

The shocked look on your face must mean thats a price sheet in your hands!! And look at all the coffee cups so they can serve up the kool-aid!! Seriously beautiful bike....would just have some hesitation to spend the cabbage on one. Best of luck with the decision.

smitty141: Willkommen zur Welt von BMW's! Sie geniessen Ihr R1200GS Abenteuer unermesslich. Herzlichst, "Dieter" Don

https://www.grassrootsbmw.com/index.asp?Pag...stom&ID=109 Smitty, in the small world category: Do you know John Simmons, former owner of Grassroots BMW? Juan and I've ridden our BMW GS's all over Mexico together for years!!!

I've been slipping the BMW Kool-Aid into SkooterG's beverages for years now, without his knowing it. First did it in Cabo San Lucas, Baja Sur at the Marina. We were having margaritas down on the docks and he turned to ogle a 50' French ketch that had an all girl crew in bikinis. When he went into a trance staring at the mademoiselles, I slipped 50ml into his drink.

*snerk* That ain't all you'll be kicking. ;) Trundle on over to touratech and eyeball the prices on all the other stuff that you just know you'll be slapping on. :eek:mg:

If you really want that little roundel, might I suggest you take a look at the F800GS when it hits? Of course, I might be cajoled into letting my beautiful DL650 go for half of that 1200GS. Ahem. ;)
