Found this on the GL1800 board.FJR Fever

How many FJR owners also have a wing, I know of a few but suspect it's much more common.
Fred Harmon used to ride a Concours. Then he moved to the GL1800. He really made Honda stand up and notice the frame cracking issue.

I'm not real sure that offsets his anal-retentive nature in other areas. People report he probably wore out his Connie from just taking it apart and putting it back together for no other reason than his compulsion to do so. :)

Since I'm not registered over there, let him know Onethumb said the water's great in the FJR pool and that he should jump on it!

I moved from 10 years of Wing ownership (3 Wings ending with a 98se) when I came to the FJR. Fred is getting here, he just had to make a stop at the big-girl's table on the way from his Connie.

--crap--edit update--

i had to register and post. there was misinfo about the PdP, insurance costs and tire life.

I've got an 02 Wing. When the wife decided to have her own bike, I was freed up to

have the bike that I really wanted, an FJ. Nowadays the Wing collects alot dust. Don't

get me wrong, it's a great bike, but the excitement factor of the FJ makes the Wing kind

of boring. I love the big Yammy, Damn this thing is fast!

Bananas!

How long do the chains last on that thing?

I too have an '02 Wing (57k miles) and also an '05 FJR. Great bikes both, just different rides. Admittedly the Wing spends a lot of time in the garage resting. :)

Add me to the list of Goldwing owners and Fjr owners. I loved the 04 wing when I bought it. After 14,000 miles in 1 year I decided to go to a sportier alternative. A friend of mine kept raving about his r1150rt. But man that thing is slow. I heard about the FJR and then I fell in love. I still have the wing, for those real long rides in comfort but the FJR is my daily exciting commute.

Wow, sounds like the boy's over on the Goldwing site have found our little secret of the FJR. My wife doesn't like to ride so that's one reason I settled on the FJ. Maybe later we can get a wing if she changes her mind but for now, it's still the old Softtail and waiting on the 06 "A" model. This waiting for the new blue baby is killing me. I've bought all new riding gear with the execption of boots which I'm still searching for but what else can you do but wait. I'm just glad it's winter which helps ease some pain. Painman. <>< <_< :dribble:

Painman, after you get your FJR, you'll want to change your name to EcstacyMan. heh heh heh

recently I stopped for fuel at the junction of 58 and the BRP I was on my way home from a 6 day trip so I was loaded down pretty heavily ,, (double tank bag, camping gear, and Kuryakyun tourmaster bag on the pillon) where 5 GL1800 riders were having lunch, after I pulled away from the pump and parked to have a bite, 2 guys came over and wanted to know about Galxy5, after talking a few ticks with them the other riders came over and one guy said "see I told you it was an FJR" wiping :dribble: off their chins!!!

it's alot of fun showing off this beauty !!

they were very interested in the adjustable screen, range and "how fast have you had it" ?? holy crap,, that fast huh?? one guy started talking about the heat issue, I told him you just have to go faster !!!

He must have had to go into solitary confinement to restrain himself from the PDP. No word from him over there lately. It's a real soap opera. What will Fred do? Stay tuned for unfolding developments.
