Spent the day changing all the fluids except the forks on the Wing I brought home. Everything is easier on the FJR by far except the radiator cap. That's easier on the wing. Bleeding the clutch is a real pain and there are 7 bleeders on the brakes. I will do the forks when I get springs, valves and head bearings.

Maybe the weather will get better so I can ride the damn thing.

wait until you have to change the air filter........

I don't think this one needs it just yet. I will probably do it when I have the front end out. I need to go through the records and see if it's been done.

Are you gonna put about a hunnert running lights on it?

The suspension is stock but it only has 24k on it so it will have to do for now.

Fred !! This thing has so much chrome and bling there isn't room for much more. That's why I call it the prom queen.

I had a 03 Wing and it came with .72 KG springs in the forks and a 900 lb spring on the shock.....a good fit for a 130 lb rider. The air filter access isn't that bad.......when you are in the process of removing the shock. I liked doing business with Traxxion, they make good suspension for the Wing.

The place i had mine done at had the rear shock changed in about 45 minutes no shelter removal needed....

The air cleaner is a 6 hour job according to the dealer.....i think it took me about 2 hours.

Traxxion posted on the one of the Goldwing forums that it was possible to remove the shock without removing the tank but when I looked at how tight everything it looked like a 2 person job to get access to the upper shock bolt so I decided to go in from the top, remove the tank, and do the air filter at the same time. It was pretty ugly until I got the shock back from Traxxion......but well work the efffort and the $$$.

I'll probably go with the progressive monotubes in the front and scout around for a take off 12-13 from a trike conversion. the late model shocks are improved and come with a 1000lb spring. I don't want to get to involved cause if I don't see me getting the use out of this thing it will be for sale in the fall.

Traxxion and Progressive were recommening 1100-1150 springs for average size riders when I did my upgrade in 2006.
