Last week I completed some winter farkling. I installed a "fastener free" Fenda Extenda, D&D risers, a blue Sea fuse block, switched and unswitched Powerlets in D panel and a Powerlet tank bag power connection (2 cigar outlets). Also, I'm considering the "no bag left behind" farkle w/ wire lock pins.

My question is...What did everybody else do (or plan to do) to their bikes this winter?

Is there a vaccine for Winter Farkle Fever...like for the flu?

Edit: Added pic of Blue Sea Fuse Block

You lucky bastard!!!!!

Wish I could find the time to do all my farkling, but when its in the 70s every day around here and I am riding EVERY DAY, its hard to find time to farkle.

I envy you cold-weather nutjobs soooooooooooo much. It's just NOT fair.

Here is my list of to-do farkles, some of which I have had for almost a year:

Wilbers front springs

Speigler brake lines

Wire in the Powerlet receptacle and Heat-Troller for the Widder vest

Aotocomm

Audiovox Cruise control

And a few others I am sure I am forgetting.

Hey skoot-

Since you've not installed those brake lines, why don't you send them my way.... I'll see if they're still worth using!

I think one antidote to winter is have a latitude that's 37 degrees or less.

Up here in the 47 degree latitudes I find myself planning 3 farkles:

1. Widder Controller and Jastek plug for my new Widders

2. Making an aluminum bracket for my Little Lite addition

3. Installing those HID low beams I bought months ago

Well, thanx a lot! :D And, for all you folks that live at 37 degrees latitude or less (or even in Australia!), here's what it looked like in my neck of the woods this morning...

To Do:

Install MCL fork brace

Install tank grip material from TechSpec (Gripster, the Ice was not grippy enough)

Install Man horns & wiring harness

Install Wilbur shock & front springs

Installed this winter

Russell Day Long seat - it's everything everybody said it was gonna be !

Installed last season:

Front fenda extenda (glue, no problems after 10k miles)

Givi C46 aero trunk (love that space)

Moko nylon sliders (just in case...)

Reflective material on rear of both bags

After this winter I think I'm gonna give my credit card a rest & try to pay it off for awhile.

Yeah. Dropping your bike off at the shop. Cures everything but waiting & wondering.

1. Get my motor de-ticked.

2. Install cruise with way cool Skyway bracket.

3. HID install

4. Get new front tire put on.

5. Various other minor maintenance items.

p.s. 36 degrees North = What's winter?

Beyond farkles, I'm also doing some preventative maintenance

I just did my Blue Seas install a few weeks ago along with an unswitched Powerlet

I recently replaced the tires and lubed the axles and splines

Being done this Saturday....

Garmin Quest2

Techmount for the GPS

Install 2nd Powerlet (switched)

Install Kuryakyn LED voltmeter

Replace air filter

Replace plugs

Oil change

Final drive fluid change

Lube hand and foot levers

Lube swingarm pivot

Flush brake/clutch fluid

Clean calipers

gonna be a busy day

Let's see...

Added Garmin 2610

Added Stem Stand and techmount plate

VSTROM handguards (will remove when it warms up in a few days)

Mag-Knight tank bra

Rick Mayer Seat

New Avons

Still need to change the oil... will do that this weekend before RTR next week.

Need to do the Spiegler brake line install... probably before the T18 HSTA ride in April...
