Way to go, Old Man North... way to start off my ******* Monday!!!!!! :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

I get up this morning, notice a little fog outside the window before getting ready for work. No big deal... typical stuff during this time of year.

I pull on the Oxtars, zip up the Spartan bibs, and button down the TourMaster Transition jacket as I hit the garage door opener. *POP-*CRACK*... holy crap, WTF was that noise?

It was ice cracking off the garage door panels as they raised up. I peer down the driveway as the door finishes opening, then the blast of arctic air reaches me. Oh, daaaaaaayumn!

Freezing fog!

The first step out the driveway, and my foot goes right out from beneath me! FUUUUUUUUUCK! I try three more steps, every step a treacherous risk of falling. The freezing fog has left an incredibly transparent sheet of thin ice everywhere.

There will no taken the FJR to work this morning... no way, no how. :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

Nice way to start the work week.... real nice. Took over a half an hour to creep the 7 miles to work in my wife's cage. I'm sitting here at 6:15am at work, all BENT out of shape 'cuz I had to YET AGAIN take a cage to work! :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

Winter is ********!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

know what you mean. it was high-70's and sunny all weekend. today it's down to mid-60's and threatening to drizzle. it's just not fare!

Glad you found out about the ice *before* you left. Last week I was getting geared up to ride to work in heavy fog (5:30 am). At the last second a bad feeling got the best of me causing me to get back off of bikie. I stripped off all the gear and got in our little Pickup which I dearly hate. About 4 miles from home I enjoyed total loss of traction with all 4 wheels while watching a big PU coming right at me spinning at 5 rpm. Fortunately my ice tires got enough grip to get me out of harms way, the big PU didn't fare quite so well. The rest of the drive was white knuckles with lots of accidents.

Sorry about your rough weather!!! The PNW has really gotten hammered this winter :angry2: Normally that is our fate here in the North East but el-Niño has blessed us with mostly good weather this winter. Feejer is in the parking lot at work today! Ahhhhh.

Hope a warm sun shines soon. :)

As a kid, did you routinely ignore those zoo signs that said "Don't tease the bear!"? ;)

Warchild is married?
To a woman that brings new depth and meaning to the term "better half".

My commute to the same was also in a cage (because my bike's torn apart) and was already a wreck on a bridge.

Ice Fog sucks.

I rode to work today, feels real good to be able to say that. Irode to work today, I rodetowork today, Irodetoworktoday. :) :) :) :) :)

We have been getting the morning fog, but temperatures have been unusually warm. This could be my first ever Christmas Day ride. Of course we normally have a white Christmas, so the warm spell has it's down points. Snow is better than freezing fog and sheets of ice.

At the International bike Show in San Mateo this weekend it did not rain but temps started in the low 30's and were in the low to mid 50's. Last night temps froze all the moisture but the roads are dry and sky's are clear. Should be in the low 50's by mid day. But alas, I have to carry equipment that will not fit on the FJR. But tomorrow will get to ride again.

Why the hell do you live in WA anyway??? :p

My brother was stationed in Spokane for 2 years and after that he said there is nothing that would make him ever go back.

Because we live in a Zone 8 banana belt region with late Falls, early Springs, rarely rains, low humidity summers, and the standard of living is good. We have rush "moments" and 320 days of sun a year. It's not at all like Spokane.

When the rare occurrence of ice fog happens.....we ***** about it.

Ya, WE REALLY feel sorry for you poor souls not being able to ride today. Must be terrible....

My last ride was over TWO FREAKING MONTHS ago, and probably my next ride will be 3 months from now.

Yep, You guy's got it tough....

Heh, heh, heh.....California isn't that bad after all....

Sorry for your situation w/ the FF and all. And to think, my Sis-in-law moved up into your area from LV.

Well, I'm going to retire to McCall, Id.....Let's see 6,000' elevation... In the mountains...Hmmm.. I guess I'll spend my winters wandering around the sun belt on my FJR...

Ah yes, winter. I so dearly remember that time of year... Sorry to hear of your weather related dilemma, but it could be worse, ya know... You could have had to take the cage in even though it was a balmy 50 degrees and sunny, just like me today! :(

Unlike some of the ******** replies, THIS I can see how it would definitely be enough to give one a piss-poor attitude..... :D

we had our ice about a week or so back. those of us down here will get our ration of weather teasing when it's over a 100° for a month at a time this coming summer.
