Hey All,

This forum was extremely helpful when trying to get sound into my helmet so I thought I'd see if anyone had thoughts on this topic. Been explaining to my wife that it's my bedroom also and that I have a right to watch TV in there just as much as she does. Now it's not that she won or I backed down or anything, but I just happened to be going past a Radio Shack and the wireless headphones were on sale so....

Like the idea but found them very uncomfortable. The earpieces were crap. For what I was using them for, the sound was passable but I ended up returning them due to the fit on the ears. Starting looking around and thought I'd try one of the Sony models but saw many reviews complaining about background hiss. Wasn't crazy about the Sennheisers as they don't give you the option to pop in regular batteries, only their rechargeables.

Anybody have a favorite set they could recommend? Right now I'm thinking of a price range not much more than $150, would like the option of using alkaline batteries, and an on/off switch on the headphones so I can throw them on the floor when I'm done. Thanks

The Sennheisers are the ones I spec out to clients, and have installed many sets of them with zero problems. Yeah, they only take their own rechargeable batteries, but those last for several years.

I have a few sets in a couple of dental surgeries for patients to use while undergoing treatment, and they are used constantly. No battery replacements in four years, (although now that I have said that, I will likely get a call tomorrow!).

Sound quality is very good for a wireless headphone, construction quality is excellent, battery life is very good, the range is really impressive, and they have models with an on/off switch.

Reliability is something that I have to take into account, as failures lead to sevice calls, (which are not always billable), irate clients, and can have an negative effect on the reputation of my business. I doubt you will find anything better suited to your application at a comparable price, but of course all of the above are just my humble opinions.

Appreciate the opinion. Just ordered a set of 140s from Amazon which I hate doing without seeing something first hand. The feedback definitely makes it easier. Thanks again.
