Doctor Throckenstein !!!
I'm looking to add an IN-THE-EAR headset for 2 way/cell into my full faced helmet. I've been using the Etymotic ER6i's for quite some time and am pleased with them. I know that Shure makes an in the ear headset for 2 way, but don't know of any others that are stereo AND voice.
What I want to do is a sort of Bluetooth add on, perhaps like the Motorola HS830, so that I'm not tethered to the bike. I'm just not sure that I can disconnect the Motorola headset (buds or speakers?) and make it in the ear.
I emailed Autocom for suggestions. They said that by the end of the year they will integrate Bluetooth into their units. For now, they had no suggestions. And the in-the-ear noise attenuation set seems to be the big hurdle.
Right now, I have NO 2 way in my helmet. I can listen to my XM via FM transmittion from my RoadyXT to my ZEN NANO PLUS 1GB MP3 player (with FM receiver) (now down to about $65) with the Etymotics (who do not have any two way sets).
Has anyone out there jumped this hurdle yet with in-the-ear sets (or other 2 way under-your-helmet headset)? I really would like to get two way in my helmet AND not be tethered to the bike.
Thanks!
