I'm stuck even before I start.

I'm adding a "Wig-Wag" Backoff controller to my '06.

There are 5 wires in the plstic sheath going to the rear lights: Brown, Green, Blue, Yellow, Black.

There is also a heavier black wire outside the plastic sheath.

The Blue and the Yellow terminate in each of the two stoplights.

Instructions require wiring the box inbetween the wire from the "brake light switch" and the wires that go into the two individual stop lights.

There's the problem. Are there two wires coming from the "brake light switch" ? Which wires do I tap into to intercept the signal from the switch? Do I wire the single lead from the box to both the yellow & blue? and then to each of them individually on the other end of the box?

Second question - is the heavier black wire the running lights wire?

Sorry if I appear dense about this - I don't have much experience with this.

Not sure what the wiring looks like in the '06, but when I installed my Back off module in my '05, I had to do it twice. If you don't splice into the line BEFORE it splits out to the multiple tailights on the '05... you get a wink instead of a blink.

I believe Dale has a writeup of the install on a '04 on FJRtech.... try This or This
