This tip is mainly directed to anyone thinking of adding circuits to their FJR. You may want to consider identifying the wires at both ends with some sort of mark. I have placed different colored mini-tie wraps on each end. This would have come in handy when I first installed my Starcom. I have recently had a problem that required me to trace back some wires. A PIA since the wires weren't marked. I have several add-ons and its amazing how all black wires look the same.

Just a tip....

Experience. (It's what you get right after you need it.

That's why I like this place. You get to beat the system.

I know what you mean...

I just use several different wire colors. Red, orange, and yellow for +. Blue or white for switch. Black or green for ground. I even use different color heat shrink wrap to notate certain wire bundles. Admitedly I used to use all red or black and it indeed got confusing if there was a problem.

Of course with my professional install skills, I haven't had to trace any bad connections! :clown2:

Everything is black. Makes for thrill after thrill when re-connecting the battery come spring.
