Wish they would have done this on the FJR

...at 687 pounds, a 10 pound battery ain't gonna do ****!
I don't see how better mass centralization could do anything but improve cornering performance. I would think that every little bit counts. The stock location of the FJR battery has always seemed unnecessary to me and a bad design feature.

I too would prefer the battery under the seat to keep weight low.

I decided to make good use of the space under the seat though:

I also keep a tire plug kit under the passenger seat so all my air/tire repair is able to store under the seat, not bad!

THAT is something I need. I have a flat repair kit, but no pump! Great, I can plug the hole in the tire, but then what???

Is that a powerlet plug or regular cigarette lighter? I did notice that it looks like you could just use the SAE connector for a battery tendor as well.

That's the same air compressor I have, and it's already saved my *** twice! It does have an SAE connector. I have it wired to my BlueSea under the passenger seat and store the Slime compressor under the rider sear (it sits on top of my StarCom1). The SAE connector is tucked away until needed.

I have a battery tender connected directly to the battery with the pigtail easily accessible under the front fairing, but tucked away.

It comes with different plug/adapters, I use the SAE and the plug wired to the battery from my Gerbings, click the link.
