OK guys, I'd like to get my forks freshened with new springs,

seals and bushings.

Anybody who's done this have a parts list so I dont miss

anything? It's an '06.

I'll bring all necessary materials.

Now it's getting exciting.

Gotta go register.

Ray was the fork master last year. I think he did four sets? He could probably confirm the required parts for you.

By the way, if anyone is attending and needs to have parts delivered, I have no problem stockpiling things for you. Just let me know what's coming and when to expect it!

Fork springs are purchased for your weight.... consult other threads for info, and choose your vendor. Sonic or Racetech have fork spring calculators for your weight. They will come in a kit with the necessary parts to install them.

Fork oil - read the various threads if you are to be swayed as to viscosity, I would get a 5W fork oil, 2 litres, your choice of brand - BelRay, Amzoil, etc. I don't recall if there was any leftovers from the last tech day which might have been BelRay.

For seals and bushings you need

Qty 1 - Fork seal kit 4SV-W003B-00-00

then 2 each of the following

4SV-23135-10-00 Metal slide 2

4SV-23125-10-00 Metal slide 1

3P6-23135-00-00 Metal slide 2

Bring a spray can of brake cleaner. I will bring a spare of each bushing just in case something goes awry, and the necessary tools to install.

Not all fork oil with the same weight is actually the same viscosity. The fork oil chart can be found here.

Thank you very much for the help and info.

I will bring all that's expected for the job.

Time to go shopping for springs.

I'll have to check to see what was leftover. I know I still have a ton of RuGlyde, but so far no tire swaps so that's a moot point.

I just registered. If nothing comes up before, this will be my very first "FJR event". I don't expect to need any service. But I am very much looking forward to meeting some folks, lending a hand, learning, and listening to some tall tales, drink in hand.

Hey KJ do you feel special? Jerry Lewis would have welcomed you with open arms back in the day :)

It's getting closer, and with my work schedule, Memorial Day and our vacation, Tech Day will be on me before I know it! OK, so here's a rundown of what needs doin' this time around:

air filter service

fork service

tire swap/balance

farkle install

lighting install

TBS

Stiffy Kit install

brake line replacement

Oh yeah, there's some drinkin' scheduled too.

Looks like the beds are spoken for, and a couple of the sofas, but there's still one more sofa, floor space, and of course the back yard for tenting, should anyone be so inclined. Looks like some new faces and some 'regulars' (if there is such a thing at the second instance of anything!). Now I just gotta get that garage squared away in time...

I'm confirming "in" for the fork service.

Already have parts on the way.

I'm bringing my tent but if weather doesn't cooperate

floor space works too.

See you all soon.

Just registered. I don't really need any work performed, but I missed SEO Ramble and need my "fix" of parking lot social.

Yuuup, Special K!

Hi-Fiber n Happy Colin keeps the exploratory anal Dr's away!

Is there going to be a No-Mar there? I can bring my balancer.
I may swap out a fronty.
There'll be a changer there, but just a HF cheapy. Same one we used last year. I have a Mojolever, which I have yet to master. I know Bill helped Mike swap shoes last year. I believe it was a little bit of a struggle, but it got done. As for the balancer, if you's is a good one, bring it! Mine is, again, the HF cheap version. It works, but it's probably not the best.
