He was certainly a great rider and the best Australian in the premier class since Mick Doohan was dominating 500cc. He was also a class act. At least he is leaving on his own terms before injury forced him out, or he struggled to compete after he was declining. He seems to have a plan, I wish him well.

The man is plenty smart, has all the money he will ever need, has a wife so hot she has to wear asbestos clothes and he didn't stay in it till he was past his prime. I got nothing but respect for him. I just hope that with him gone somebody else will step up and keep that little weasel Pedrosa from ever winning a championship.

I respect Casey to the max. He did something even Rossi may not be able to do,which of course is win the championship on a Ducati. But I would be surprised if he didnt get bored with his retirement and come back in a year or two. twenty six is young to retire and nothing like a year off to regain your passion for the sport. Good luck Casey!!

I'm stunned to see one of the best riders ever bow out with such future promise. I understand his feelings because being a father changes your priorities in life.

Well the time has come, his last ride on home soil. The season was off to such a good start then an injury that should have seen him off his GP bike for the season. Then on the podium last week, what a recovery.

Best of luck this weekend and for your future Mr Stoner.

(One very proud Aussie)

Sad to hear he is retiring, Casey has suffer some unfortunate mishaps on the racetrack, I am sure this is major contributing factor. On a closing note, Casey Stoner is a very talented and entertaining racer to watch, good luck to him in his future endeavors. I hope someday he returns to racing :)

From my understanding Stoner got fed up with the politics in GP racing. He is a great competitor and will be missed on the circuit this season.
