What a game! That overtime period was probably the fastest, most sustained and intense team competition that I've seen in any sport. No real losers in that game, but conga rats to the Canucks. Maybe they'll be less surly with this result. ;)

Hard played, Clean game on both sides.

Ended just like it should have.

CANADA'S GOLD

Fantastic game!

As much as I hated to see USA lose, I was happy for all those crazy canucks and their win.

A most excellent example of Olympic spirit and competition, and a hell of a way to finish these winter Olympic games.

It was a great game!!!

That second goal by USA with only about 24 seconds left in the third period was awesome! The USA team should hold their heads high, that was a great effort and game.

What a ride Eh!?! I think my heart almost stopped a couple of times during that game.

Even though we got the Gold, team USA had us on the ropes right until the end. Congrat's to BOTH teams for an outstanding performance.

What a class act these guys are! :coolsmiley02:

Uh, spoiler content. Spoiler title. <_<
Huh?

The title "WoW!, hockey gold/silver
" gives away who won? Am I missing something or did you find another bag of Mendocino green bud, Mike?
Still looking for that lost baggie, Rich. In retrospect, I must have still been pissed 'cuz I had just turned on the radio in time to hear somebody else blurt out ". . . Canada's great hockey victory today" before I could say "NAHNAHNAHNAHNAHNAH" and go home and watch it on the DVR. So I was over sensitized or something I guess. I already knew it was going to be Gold-Silver anyway. Duh.

By the way, in this morning's local paper, the sports editor's comment was "OK, the series is even, one to one. Now it's time for the playoff game for the medal." What do you Canadians think of that idea? *ducking*

I'm good with it, although, should Canada win the tie breaker, the US players have to promise to be a bit more gracious and less pouty when they receive their silver medals. I think only about 40% were able a meek "thank you" to the person giving them their medal Sunday aft. Grow up boys........Kessler especially.

Well, it's not a usual circumstance to receive a medal 10 minutes after losing the game of your life. I just think there were just alot of emotions going on.

I'm sure if you worked yer butt off for months and years on one project and your whole country was counting on you to come through....and you came THIS close to winning the whole deal...then the other team ended it suddenly, you would have a hard time smiling 10 minutes later. Not excusing it, but certainly understanding it.

I'm sure the Canadians and Canadian fans would have had trouble smiling while receiving the silver medal if the shoe was on the other foot.

I don't think anyone was expecting a smile or joyous expression, just mabye some basic politeness?

There's that Canadian word popping up again. :) Not everybody is from Canada...you just wish they were.

Don't get me wrong, my Dad would smack me good if I didn't show good manners to my mom or others when I was growing up...and I've got enough Scandanavian in me to naturally tend toward that. But not everyone is like that.

Be polite? Hell, we *let* you win!

I'm very happy for my Canadian friends. Now then, can we talk true sport, like football? <ducking>
