Was it Beemerdons who told the kids to stop bickering?! This could go back and forth for a while (like religion and politics)

Um.... Wheatie....'politeness' is not a Canadian word (I think that's the word to which you referred?). It's a universal concept.

I felt Team USA's disappointment (proof: see my Facebook - I posted that right after the game). I hate to see anyone 'lose' in a competition like that.

Barb - and many like her - was not looking for an emotional expression of gratitude (like the US pair who 'lost' - ie won silver - to Virtue & Moir in skate dance). But a perfunctory 'thank you' would have been 'nice' (yikes - there we go again with that 'nice' s**t :p )

Hey! Look at that dickweed, Begg-Smith the Canadian-born Australian who wouldn't even speak to the Canadian press when he 'lost' (ie won silver) in freestyle skiing. So, you see, even WE don't have the 'politeness market' cornered ;)

Regarding how the Canadian players and fans may have reacted to a silver win..... we're grateful we didn't find out

So..... Wheatie ..... we :eek:k: now ?

Everything's okay. God knows I'm a bastard, but atleast I'm a polite bastard. :)

I'm jes sayin' that nobody knows what it's like unless you've been there.

Canadian's were the better team, they owned the OT period. The US was close, but could only have won it on the chance that they could steal it. The US goalie was better, the Canadian goalie was giving the US chances by not being able to hold onto the puck during the save.

All I know is that we have three Canadian Gold Medalists on the BlackHawks, plus Patrick Kane from the US, so watch out come playoff time. :assassin:

Here's an idea...

If we got rid of professional sports, then the Olympics would be oh so much more meaningful. Eh?

But I do like the level of intensity that is played out in these contests (for little profit by the participants). That is what sports are about.

I'm good with it, although, should Canada win the tie breaker, the US players have to promise to be a bit more gracious and less pouty when they receive their silver medals. I think only about 40% were able a meek "thank you" to the person giving them their medal Sunday aft. Grow up boys........Kessler especially.
To be fair, don't you think that's *exactly* the way the Canadians would have looked if they had lost that game?

If the USA players are *still* pouting, that's one thing. But 5 mins after the greatest game in the history of hockey? I'll let them pout. :)
