I hit a guardrail in a gravel incident last year and marred the headlight and broke the mounting tabs. I used plastic welding to fix the tabs - now they're as solid as a rock (I reinforced them with some extra melted plastic). I sanded the lens smooth and went all the way up to 2000 grit paper before buffing it out. The repair is 95% as good as new and cost me just a few dollars for the wet sandpaper.
