My 2005 Feej seems to be a fickle beast. I put her on the market this weekend and I think she is throwing a tantrum. Today, I went to open the storage compartment as I usually do to hit the garage door opener, and te open button took a dump. It appears that the button is all part of the storage compartment, so I am looking for a decent working used compartment for my Gen 1 05' Feej. Please PM me if you have one you would like to part with. Thanks!

PS-I washed her up all pretty this weekend and she swelled up a bubble inside the tachometer about the size of a quarter! Women...

There was one on ebay yesterday. Called something odd though, so you may have to search thru all the FJR listings. FWIW, I bought a new one of these from one of the parts places in the forum listing for around $80. Good luck!

Thanks for the info OC. The only one I found on EBAY after looking through 104 pages (~1,500 ads) was a new one that was selling for more than retail(~$160). The cheapest I have found is for $101 and change from Ron Ayers. I would live to find one used as I am just trying to sell the beast at this point. I have two potential purchasers coming to look at it this weekend, so we'll see how it affects the bike's marketability. Darn compartment wont stay closed!

Good luck with finding a used one intact. Parts Shark has it for $99.57 (5VS-2830N-00-00)

Velcro or dual lock that thing down for now. Just remember to clean the surfaces with alcohol before sticking the velcro down.

I'd contact the ebay selling with a link to the Parts Shark one and offer him $75. Nothing to lose.

The glove box is powered to lock until the key is on. Is the latch broken?

Mine started to have trouble from the power not releasing the latch. So I disconnected the power feature and now it opens fine ( just doesn't lock )!

Search through some glove box threads and you'll find how to disconnect/ and or / remove the glove box.

Thanks for the reply. The power solenoid locks fine, but the latch itself is all busted. The spring part of the latch is bent and popping out the back side and it is bent/un-coiling.
