Thanks. Looks solid. I was hoping for a little more height for maximum effectiveness.
I have one of Garauld's RD mounts on my clutch reservoir. My RD has a completely unobstructed "view" of the road ahead (through the windshield of course). I don't see how having it any higher would maximize effectiveness??

Well height and the ability to move the detector a little further forward would be my preference. For vision purpose.

Not that 2-4 inches is gonna make much difference but previous detector manufacturers recommend placing as high as possible. Again, I thinking of vision issues............FOR ME!

Oh, I understand.

Yeah, I just "hook" the detector audio to my ear buds via an amplirider. The music or GPS audio directions are interrupted by a sudden loud, "you can't ignore it" warning when the detector "goes off". I don't think I'd ever see the detector visual warning in time, even if it was mounted higher.

It's an option to think about.

I have one of garauld's RD mounts on an Escort 9500 on the brake reservoir. I don't think a couple inches higher or more forward is going to put the alert in your peripheral vision.

I have to look down to see the readout, so I would never pick it up without some other warning. For alerts I use a radar screamer during the day and Escort's hard wire kit with its one flashing red light on top of the speedo is enough for nighttime.

My mount was A wide piece of velcro on the front brake reservoir. As a backup, I had a leash on the RD unit, but it never did come off the velcro.

The audio output went into the Autocom.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing this morning while riding. Or make my own plate.

Even a darn rubberband would likely hold an Escort S3. Thanks for all replies.
