Market value, like lobster.
I've seen them used go as low as $275 (No I didn't get it, I was too late) and as high $500, I believe they retail for $799 new. If you can get one for <=$400 the correct color, I'd say nab it. It's really what you're comfortable with paying though.

I'm likely to offer the one from my '06 soon - but the darned UD dollar is in the toilet, so I will take a HUGE whacking, even at $600. Sort of like my divorce, which was finally granted today, allowing me to be officially poor.

It didn't go for $600; I bought it. There is often a difference between asking price and sale price....

As far as what they sell for used, whatever the buyer and seller agree on. I'm quite happy with my deal, and the seller was, too. Win/win!

+1 on the Smuggler. I always ride solo, hate tank bags and wouldn't part with mine for anything. Sort of like a Harley though, "For people who like this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing they like." Lots of Smuggler haters out there, must be an acquired taste.
