So, what is the artifact, or what are they usually? This one looks to be molten metal. Are they all like this, or something more recognizable? Were they 'made' from material from the buildings, or presented in an 'as found' condition?

Either way the pedestal is cool, and I think you did a very good job giving the artifact an honorable place to rest.
These are remnants pulled from the rubble of the WTC, as they were found, so they come in all shapes and sizes. Visit some of the links in my previous post to see more pictures of other artifacts.

Because I built the pedestal, I was able to handle the artifact. That experience of seeing it and touching it for the first time is difficult to describe: similar to the adrenaline dump you get from a near-miss on the road combined with a profound spiritual awareness of what this piece is, where it was, and what happened to it. I couldn't help but wonder who might have been near it at any given moment on 9/11. It chokes me up even as I type this.

Thank you again for all the kind words and let us never forget.

It's obviously a piece of twisted metal. Anyone who took high school biology should know that it's not a human pelvis. Just a weak tasteless attempt at humor.
all my jokes are weak and tasteless. are you new here or something?

"Artifact" didn't seem to say much about it, so I went with what I saw.

I have a whole shop of really cool wood working equipment, from my pops, that I know not what to do with. To see production for an excellent cause, that's what this OP post is about.

What's that? A pelvis?

It's obviously a wry comment. Anyone who graduated high school should know that it's not a serious question. Just another humorless attempt at imposing mind-numbing political correctness. ;)

No,,,, just a callous disrespect for the murder of thousands of innocent fellow Americans...........

Geeze. Of course it's not and quit getting so self righteous. I wasn't at "ground zero" but I was on-the-ground helping after the OKC bombing; having lost friends and coworkers. How about you Bub? What did you do to make a difference? How are you directly acting to help those whose health is failing after working in NYC after Sept, 11th? What about direct efforts to help the families of lost ones in OKC?

Or are you outraged because the TV told you to be?

Now back off, Boudreaux, and quit trying to make the original comment more than it was.

...

The pedestal is very nice.

The artifact is "a hunk of metal" that is unidentifiable despite what Rorschach responses might elicit.

And the pedestal is very nice.
