Check, as Heber said, still as far as I know. I don't think they need to take the 2 -3 % hit based on the low low prices they are offering.

As of two weeks ago, they only do checks. I overnighted a check to them with a few days to spare too and got my Y.E.S paperwork last Friday. Just get them the check ASAP, and they can do the paperwork over the phone or fax stuff to you.

Talk about customer service! I called D&H today and spoke to Renaa. She took my info and said, "just mail me a check...no need to overnight it." I was surprised, but all the good things I have read about D&H are definitely true. Bottom line, Renaa told me I should have my card from Yamaha within a couple of weeks. Renaa told me they love to deal with FJR owners because "they all know exactly what they want." An understatement I believe! Anyway, great call on the YES program through D&H! I saved a ton. None of the local dealers in the Charlotte, NC area would talk to me about a discount from the Yamaha price. You guys saved me a bundle.

When I talked to my dealer about the YES warranty I told him about being able to get the D&H price of 389. I also told him I knew I could buy the YES contrract from any dealer, but I would prefer to buy it from him. He was skeptical about the price but told me he'd match it if I could bring in documentation.

So I copied the thread from the BANNED site (this was back in May), took it to the dealer, & he honored the same price. I just felt a little better letting my local dealer make the 30-40 bucks...

I would have loved to do the same. However, when I tried talking to three local dealers about it, I got a blank stare. Of course, two local service departments here argued with me over changing the rear drive oil at the 600 mile service. That doesn't comfort me either. So far, I haven't found them to be overly concerned with customer service. Hence, I am going to begin doing what I can to service my bike myself. I would rather ride than maintain. So with time off rare these days, I'm not sure how much that will be. But, I'm going to try.

Cheers

I got an extended extended warranty from https://www.nyhondayamaha.com/ for $425

It's a 2 year extension beyond the original YES. Note: I got it BEFORE the YES expired. They said it was considered a used warranty, but that I could only qualify if I got it before the original YES expired. Also, I originally called D&H, but they said that they would have to see the bike before they could sell me the warranty.

Note: Originally they quoted $700... but after asking nicely they came down to $425.00

Has this DE dealer done much work on your FJR? I'm just wondering where any trustworthy dealers are in the area.

I got a 48 month from D & H months back. I got some paperwork from them but have got nothing from Yamaha Yet. How long does that take? just curious. Since the subject was here. Do I need to call and find out?

Took us about two weeks to get our after getting the D&H paperwork. However, you are covered, from what I was told, immediately. My diealer said I was covered as soon as D&H sent their stuff.

Of interest, the Y.E.S. warranty is good to get RIGHT AWAY. Don't wait for your 1st year warranty to run out. Seems. by having the Y.E.S., during the frist year, you get the $150 for misc should you break down. According to my dealer, you actually have a 1st year warranty that is better when you also have the Y.E.S plan. So...you are not spending your money too early. You do get some bennies right from the start. Plus, there is too much chance D&H won't keep this up. DO IT NOW!!!!

I was very reluctant to do the D&H thing. I always believed you don't get anything for nothing. Boy, was I wrong. The D&H people are top notch. And Renaa is a real sweetheart. I can't say enough about them.

and note that the year 1 of your yes doesn't start until the end of your OEM warranty, so they don't overlap.

I bought bike at D & H. Called yesterday. She called Yamaha, They didn't know what happened, she called me back, and hopefully it is all good now. I just love talkin with them folks. Good place to do business.

I live in Canada
We can get the YES warrenty here ( way more $) but I was wondering if I could by it down there and still have it cover up here
Won't cover you in Canada...only if you bring your bike to a U.S. dealer and have the work done in the states. Not sure if one can get a Canadian VIN to be covered though....call D&H.

D & H seems to be the best and only deal maker on this warranty.

I have an 05 with 11k miles on it, I plan on keeping this beautiful machine for a loong time. I can just call D&H and get an extended warranty from them?

No, not if it's been longer than 1 year since you bought your bike. If you didn't put Y.E.S. within the first 12 months...you missed the window.

I take it that is 12 months from new and not a resale purchase from a private individual?
