I am excited but for a different reason......I'm selling the 08 FJR and looking at the 09 R1 and the wife will be getting an 05 R6 now that she decided she wants to ride her own bike. :D

So will the 09's be considered GEN II or is it too early to tell?
Too early to tell until we know what changes Yamaha is going to make, if any, to the FJR. Changes aren't guaranteed - the Yamaha web site says "2009 Model Intros" but that doesn't mean there will be any material changes to the 09 FJR.

now that she decided she wants to ride her own bike. :D
Congrats to her!

Yamaha's web site mentions Monday Sept 8th at 3pm EST that they will intro new 2009 models.

well alright, not bad for a newbie! ;) posting up valuable info to keep us on our toes. thank you makuna.

now added to my ical with a 15 minute warning alarm...

I hope someone leaks that **** early. I can't wait until Monday to find out about the new Pewter '09 FJR.

Nah, important stuff like new bike models are kept secret up until the launch. Veep choices and the like that nobody cares about are leaked early just to generate interest.

THAT'll get you a warning from the man for sure!! It could also get the thread locked. Ya gotta make sure there's NOTHING that can be construed as political EVER mentioned in your posts!!!!!

had to reread that .....i thought he said Jeep :p

Outstandingly enough after hearing a bit more it looks like the new counter rotating dual rod shaft drive will negate the effects of shaft elevation under acceleration. That coupled with a new symetric performance u-joint with counter-balancers is very intriguing.

One might be led to the conclusion that gyroscopic effects from the dual rotating shaft rods in combination of the parallel frequencies coming from the tires if controlled, could create a pseudo harmonic resonance between all rotating body mass. This would not only potentially eliminate any vibration from the motor as it would undoubtably be at a resonant frequency unperceptable by us but first and foremost cancell out rear end rise due to the driveline and eliminate the entire reason why shaft drive motorcycles can't do wheelies.

If nothing else, we all know the bikes turn right better than left do to gyroscopic effects from the driveline...this should be better as well.

Wow!, that's great!....So the dual harmonic of the resonating frequency of the counter-rotating shaft in conjunction with the rotating body mass is canceled out by the end rise of said shaft that is coupled to the final drive and this eliminates any wheelies?

Cool.

Hey what the?

No... Wheelies will be easier but the cross-harmonic induced vibes will be non-existent... It will also sound like a Harley.

I came here looking for information, looks like all you get here is ******** !!!!! :assassin:

Absolutely.... but every so often you'll find direction on solving various problems like......

Well say.... communications for example. You can usually get good advice on where to turn.

I happened to get that here. Not all the time but usually when I need it... but I digress

Back to the ******** :yahoo:

All I need to know is, "Have they fixed the flux capacitor so that it will work off of a penlight battery and still get me back from the future in time for dinner without stranding me?"

Yeah, I posted new information not expecting really much of a reply. It was relavent to me as the local dealers have been thin on 08 AEs for the last month and I am thinking on just waiting for the 09 information before pulling the trigger. I even avoided the "feasting" fridays which are like waving a raw steak in front of a pack of wolves no matter what the subject.

But still people feal that hijacking an informational thread for their own self flatualation is acceptable and not against the forum rules (mm, looks like it is against forum rules). All they really do is tend to make it harder to search and find usefull information. Half my searches I have to wade through off topic replies to get to the relevant points.

Well, I just went off topic instead of creating a new thread so I guess I am no better of a wolf when I see a raw steak; but it was MY RAW STEAK.
