While I was washing my bike in preparation for the Moonshine Lunch run I discovered that my Yamaha badge had slipped off and missing from my left saddle bag? I experienced sticker shock seeing what it will cost to order one from a dealer, anyone happen to have a spare?

there anywhere from 8 to 14 bucks for both of them from your local yammy dealer. I gotta go buy one myself next week. many here say use gorilla glue to put one on as the yammy glue isnt the best.

If you have the Y.E.S. any dealer should give you a new one.
Not any dealer. Mine wouldn't and neither would Yamaha (YES or not) until after much whining to them directly and their response was it would be a one-time courtesy. And had to have the whole plastic piece replaced not just the sticker. If it happens again, I'll just order one from a previous gen where you can get just the emblem, part #5JW-W9345-00-00. Still, it's listed at $9 so probably closer to $7 through these guys.

I guess I just got lucky, and have a great mechanic at (Breyley Yamaha), that warrantied a lot of little things, and also a few pretty big things. But alas after 6 years of Y.E.S. it finally ran out last April.

I do have the Y.E.S. warranty and will give my dealer a call.
I hope you have better luck than I did. The *******s wouldn't replace mine under warranty. At first I waited for nearly two months for the whole chrome piece and then had them cancel the order and just get the emblem after finding the part number here.

For some strange reason on the Gen 3 bikes you have to order the ENTIRE chrome piece with the sticker in it.

However, if you shop BikeBandit and look up a Gen 2 bike (I used 2007) you can order just the sticker and it is fairly cheap.

Well all this talk about missing badges on the bag trim got me wondering so I checked mine out today. Both still there but a little poking around the edges showed that indeed these things were not on very securely. Hit them for a few seconds with the heat gun and they practically fell off. Cleaned the goop off both surfaces with some WD-40, wiped the residue off with some rubbing alcohol and cut some new 3M double-sided molding tape to fit the back of the badges. All back together now hopefully for good. Have used the 3M tape before on my bikes and never had it come loose.

Yes it's true. Gen III's you have to order the whole chrome piece (68 f'in dollars). I kept pushing on mine all last year after all the talk I saw on here about how easy they come off and sure enough I caught them just in the nick of time on several occasions; until last week, noticed the one on my right bag missing. In the Valley of the Sun, knew it would be a fruitless effort. Shoulda reglued them right from the get-go. Put in a warranty claim Sat. with my half-assed dealer (2 weeks left on factory warranty); we'll see if it gets approved.

Com'on Yamaha, how 'bout a little heat resilience on your new stickers!! Or how 'bout just selling the sticker and not make us buy half the bag. Sheeez!

Yep, noticed the other day while washing mine that the right side one was gone. Went online to see about ordering it and saw you had to get the entire chrome piece for $$$$ at least on Gen3 parts. So, I checked the 2012 parts and found you could get just the sticker that way. Next order I make I'll get one.
