I have a question that maybe someone here can answer. I just recently put my deposit on the 2006 FJR 1300A. My question is will Yamaha HQ send me a confirmation letter of my order and estimated arrival date of the bike? Last year you had to have your dealer use the Yamaha website to find out the delivery date. And what is the YDS? I know the PDP is the "Pre-Delivery Program" that the dealer has to access to get your confirmation order number and estimated delivery date. Just not clear on this strange system and the dealer doesn't seem up on the new program either. Painman.

Looks like this:

Dunno if that's what they'll send for the '06's.

Thanks for the info Timo. I got my dealer working on it. I have my confirmation number but since I'm the first one on the PDP and some of the rules have changed in ordering, its taking them a little longer than usual. I expect to hear the particulars any time now. Painman.

Y.D.S.????
Y.E.S. is the Yamaha Extended Service (Plan Contract)...the extended warranty program.
Y.D.S. is the Yamaha Data System, which dealers use for most all aspects of day-to-day operations... parts, bike orders, inventory, etc, etc

I ordered my 05 FJR the 1st week in Feburary 05. I went to my mail box every day anxiously awaiting confirmation, and finally called the dealer. He said he could show me confirmation on his PC, but had no paperwork. I received my confirmation in the mail the 2nd week in May, 1 week before my bike arrived.

Don't know if anything has changed; ordered mine from the dealer in 11/04 and never got anything from Yamaha. Come spring 05 and still no word (and the dealer was clueless) I finally called Yamaha (Cypress) and some nice lady there gave me the confirmation and estimated ship date. Showed up at dealer in late March 05. You'd think there would be a better way...... Jay

I got my FJR in October of 2002. Some few weeks prior to that a Yamaha factory rep hand delivered a letter of confirmation, a Yamaha hat, a drink coozie, and she also gave me a blow job. I was very pleased with Yamaha's focus on their customer.

I ordered my '05 in December '04, never got confirmation, written or otherwise and very little delivery information at all until it actually arrived. Then I had all the delivery information I needed :D .

Just for the record....................what's this about a drink coozie!!!!!!!!!!!!????????

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D <_<

Man... what I wouldn't give for a cool coozie.

I think that a better way would be to floor these things at dealers. I personally think the PDP is nuts.

If you get a confirmation letter BEFORE you get the bike, you will be the first. The shown letter came with the hat for Yammies 50 Anniversary.
