Position: Technician/Test Rider

Function: Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. is a growing and dynamic organization with superb products that includes ATVs, SxSs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, scooters, accessories, apparel, and much more! We are a company of enthusiasts and have passion for our products! Yamaha has an opening for a Technician / Test Rider to join our Motorsports Testing Department! This position is based out of Cypress, CA. The Technician / Test Rider will be responsible for testing and evaluation of all motorcycles, scooters, ATV’s and Side x Side vehicles sold in the US market. Individual will mechanically service and prepare test units for test evaluation and media events.

Responsibilities:
Riding, product testing and evaluation of motorcycles, scooters, ATV’s and Side x Side vehicles.
Provide evaluation feedback, discussion and written reports.
Mechanically service and prepare test units for evaluation and media events.
Occasional machine shop tool, welding and fabrication.
Attend and support some media events.

Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalency. Technical trade school credential in motorcycle repair preferred.
Must have valid class C-M1 drivers’ license.
Must have mechanical abilities to completely service, overhaul, and troubleshoot all mechanical systems.
Machine shop tool and welding skills helpful.
Proficiency in riding street, off-road and MX motorcycles, as well as sport/utility ATV’s and Side x Side vehicles.
Willing to travel up to one week at a time, air travel and work occasional weekends.
Good communication required and ability to work effectively with staff members, media journalists and industry consumers.
Computer proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must have high quality work attitude, be flexible, multi-task proficient and practice good teamwork principles.

I was just this evening thinking of switching from auto technician to bikes.

I think it would cut into my riding time.
