I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the bottom of my Yammy box had a piece of the housing that protects the lock(that holds it to the base plate) broke off .Apparently the flimsy base plate was flexing up and down so bad that tour pack had bounced off the top of the tail section hard enough to bust the chunk out. I drilled a countersunk ss bolt through the base plate and through the tail sec. right in front of the lock hole an behind the single stock rear mounting bolt , and it took about half the movement out of the box. Next up,I am making a plate out of .125 aluminum that will be bolted to the top of the base plate and not interfear with the box locking onto the base plate . this should fix the flex problem with the Yamaha box. I Hope .Has anyone else noticed this or dealt with it on the 06's ????
