BTW, those weren't quite "afterburners". What you heard was it spooling up with some type of assist, then "lightning off" or starting so that it is running on its own.

No IBM-clone computers come bundled with Quicktime that I'm aware of. Can't say the same for Apples, since Quicktime IS an Apple product.

Are you saying you didn't (or let some browser page) install Quicktime on your PC? That your PC came with it already installed?

I've never purchased a computer with ANYTHING bundled with anything. Every computer I've ever owned, or purchased for my company, I've built from separate components and installed all the software from scratch.

You're either seriously under-paid or your company is over-billed for pre-assembled PCs from the various mfgrs. Your hourly salary is costing them more for your time than it would for them to buy a bundled PC from some place like Dell.

I typically replace the computers in my workplace every 5 years or so, and buying bare-bones systems off the internet, i.e., cases with mobo only, harddrives without software, workgroup quality video cards, then rolling out an image file to 35-40 PCs, is very fast and cost effective, when you consider the cost of my time is easily amortized over the next 5 years.

And the issue of bundled PCs...did you EVER buy a brand name PC that contained software you'd NEVER use? I don't need 40 PCs with AOHell, Microsoft Works, Quicken, Real Player, Encarta, etc., pre-installed.
