Ohhh, ohhh!!! I just gots ta ax you -- are you trying to set your cruise on the center stand or actually road testing it? The AVCC will not set or work unless it is on the road. This is something that AVCC tech help may not think to ask since most of their installs are in cars and trucks.

So.....???? :)

No I was actually road testing it. I did quite a bit of reading ( I used search feature) so I had that tid bit. O.K. IWhen I disconncted the purple wire adn ran it to ground the system worked as advertised. I am going to retap into the brake over near the lever by the plug. I had checked the wire I was tapped into nad it showed power only when the brake was applied.

Finally got it to work properly. Now its just temp installed. I wanted to get it all working before i put the servo in a hard to reach place. I think I am going to remove the air recirculation system and install the servo under teh coolant tube adn I need to get some clear RTV for waterproofing. I need to bike pulled down a bit anyhow, My waterproof GPS gets here today. Will be installing it tonight. Thanks for all the help everyone. It seemed like it was a pretty straightfoarward install, But maybe I had a bad ground or something. last night I went and rechecked all the connections and rechecked the wiring, Its only a few wires and thats what really had me irritated. Anyhow I will post pics once I get the install completed. Thanks again everyone

If you have a volt meter, now is the time to use it. When making voltage measurements for the Purple wire, use the same ground location for the DMM as you used for the AVCC. When seeking grounds for any aftermarket goody, the battery is best ground #1 (as well as any terminal strip that is directly grounded to the battery), the engine is poorer ground #2, the main frame is even worse ground #3 and the rear sub-frame is the worst ground #4.

Is there *anything* on the brake circuit that is not 100% OEM? Sometimes even when there are no LEDs, Back-Off flashers, etc., there is still a small bit of voltage left on the brake wire. If this is the case you may have no choice but to use a brake actuated relay for the Purple wire.

If you relocate the Purple wire and it still doesn't work make sure that your brake peddle & brake switch are mechanically working correctly.

It will be worth all this effort!

I'm still not sure you have the right place for your purple and red wires from the CC.

If you're trying to do this:

Brakelightbulb.jpg

It won't work.

Has to be this, at the brake light switch:

Brakelightswitchconnector.jpg

The cruise is looking for 12 volts on the red and 0 (ground) on the purple, or it won't set. When the brake switch closes, the voltage on the purple wire tells the CC the brake light is on, and it disengages.

If you're just connecting across the brake light bulb, you'll have voltage on the purple wire, or you won't have 12 volts on the red wire. It can't see the bulb taking current and use that as a trigger.

I have the red wire running to my power source under my seat, The purple wire is now attached at the rear brake switch at the connection. I am trying not to use the supplied splices, I am running the wires into the rear of the connector adn soldiering them to the existing wire. I also ran the grey coming from the control pad to the connector for the red wire adn did the same thing. Very clean. I was about to leave to go get the PVC for my reservior when I saw the Tee fitting on the bench that had 3/8 ends. I ran a piece of 3/8 hose around under the rear fairing and looped it to both sides of the tee that is now right behinfd the tool compartment, I checked it with a suction after I installed the tie wraps and it works. Shoul d hold as much CF of air as a fuel filter or possibly a little more. I am taking pics to document these changes to make it simplier for the next guy if he wants to use these ideas. I have to make my mount for my cruise pad, But I already have it figured out. I am making one like murphs since I already have my driving light box mounted to the top of the mirrio mount on the clutch lever. I am getting excited about the install now. I am considering trying to mount the reservior on the left side of the bike down by my left footpeg, But I t will require some serious disassembly. Anyhow, Back to the shop for me. Thanks again everyone.

I got ht e CC installed, Made a mount for the control pad. Looks just like murphs, But didnt cost $24. Took 5 minutes at lunch hour at work. Love the CC, Used a 3/8 line routed under the rear faing as my reservior. Simple and effective with no loss of usable space. Throttle measter be damned, Dont know why I didnt do this sooner. best mod yet.
