Since we went to Perry to ride trails, a guy I know at work asked if I was going to ride the Flint Ridge AMA dualsport ride....why not?! Well...Shinko 244's suck in the mud, that's why! I didn't know that beforehand and wasn't expecting the muddy conditions either. Anyway, I screwed up my GoPro somehow and was taking pics instead of video and it didn't start taking pics till AFTER I'd crashed a few times! Here I'm picking the bike up from a creek crossing/mud pit.
Whoa! This sh*t is slippery!
Poor little DR...not an inch on it w/o some mud. My stepson in the background crashed less than I did!
After this debacle, I was going to buy some knobbies but was looking on Craiglis after drinking last Friday night...and found this. 03 WR250F with only 88 hours on it and street legal!
Couldn't believe the wife said 'go for it', but she'd been drinking with me! So now I have a much more serious dirt weapon. I took it for a test ride at my secret 'off road' testing grounds and 'Holy Sh*t!' This thing is wicked for a 2-fiddy! 2nd and 3rd gear power wheelies are a snap! Of course it's geared stupid low for trail riding and I'll need to change the 13 tooth front for a 14 to commute on it, but I'm seriously impressed. The suspension is light years ahead of the DR. Too bad maintenance is more intense though. Oh well, can't have it all!
Just got her home.
Oh yeah; only about 255 lbs with gas and E-start with kicker backup. Woo-hoo!
