A crowd gathers to gawk at the carnage and get a good description of the accident from the response team:

And just in front of us sweepers, the Bluestreeks:

Other than a couple of incidents (without major injuries), it was a great time and I highly recommend it to everyone next year. Thanks Highlanders!

Unidentified looks like Jeff, BikeEffects?? (notice the carbon cans and Ohlins shock adjuster?)

That's my guess...waiting for the answer.

Great pics ToeCutter! Thanks for sharing! I ran into some software issues resizing my photos so I'll take a second run at posting more pics tonight...I'll just post to this thread so we can have most pics in one place.

I really like the rolling shots on what looks like 395 South from Mono lake. How about those cross winds in sections where there were no trees? I'm not sure you got those on 395, but that wind seriously wanted my helmet off of my head...good thing I didn't forget to buckle it on!

Yeah, the rolling shots were an afterthought to my 'need for speed' blast up the left lane. I suggested to Brenda to get some photos of the other bikes as we drifted back into our sweep position. I want to get one of myself sitting in the pillion positon, all alone on my bike, but not in those (or any) crosswinds. The really brutal ones were when we were blasting down the 120 after we got out of the park. All leaned over, the winds would just about lift the bike out of contact with the ground. Bad things man, bad things...

Yup, that's me.
Thanks Jeff. Next year we'll try to stay at the group hotel for more interaction. Hey, I did about $500.00 in damage to my bike, but I saved $40.00 on the room. Gotta go switch my car insurance to Geico now so I can afford to fix my bike in a couple of years.

Edit:

The consumption report is in and we had all that fun at just over 40 miles per gallon. Not bad for two-up and loaded with a tall windshield. Gotta love that high altitude riding. I also refueled at Costco this morning for onlt $2.99.9/10 a gallon. Woohoo! Brenda suggested I save the receipt to show the grandchildren. "See, back before you were born it was only 3 bucks a gallon and I can prove it".

I was traveling light and checked the mileage after I got home and got a shade under 46 mpg.

That's what you get for not wearing your nametag the whole time. It's not for you, because you know your own name. It's for me. Next time I'll try harder. Sorry. So, who the hell is Charles? There was a Charles, right? "Quick Bob, what's your name?"

Okay OKAY. From now on I'll always wear a nametag and I'll have my name embroidered on all my clothing.

Or I'll just learn to answer to any name. :bye:
