... Bokerfork at least looks like a fun companion on a ride....
He is indeed a good-natured soul. You could learn from him.

... one must assume that Bokerfork was up at 4 AM and geared up when the post hit... ;) BTW, you've rubbed off on Niehart...he's following your MO now.
Ya know, escapefjrtist, I had to WAIT for almost an hour for the boy. He wrecked my schedule, but it was good having his company.

And did you say "rubbed off" and "Niehart"? Good god, man!

... I have not done Tioga pass yet. I have done every other Mtn pass over the Sierra's l but that one.
That's a sin, Simon. Get it done!

I want to tour the USA, and Yosemite is definitely on my list.
Art, you owe it to yourself. It's a magical place, especially if you like hiking.

Photos don't do it justice.

fantastic pictures!
Thanks, Auburn!

Screw you. Here I am trying to talk myself out of riding all the way to WFO specifically so I can see Yosemite and the Redwoods and you go and post up this.

*******.

Just for you. You seem to be everywhere.

That is indeed a beautiful piece of asphalt, Bungie.

...And I thought you were CONFIRMED as a participant at WFO. You know, considering your age, you don't want to put things off too much.

You've likely got very few quality years left in you!

Thank you for taking us late sleepers along! :)
You're welcome, Sam. And will there be pics from the Quincy thing?

Damn, I missed a good road....
Prubert, I understand it just opened last Friday. Hard to plan, since the date varies year to year.

... OM it won't really quit raining here untill after the fourth (hopefully).
Kevin, I don't think I can wait that long. I'll have to buy some rubber pants and a snorkel.

... If I can avoid another ticket on the way down or back I'll come out OK.
Mike, that is unlikely, don't you think? You ride like a criminal, and that's a long way.

What are the odds?

Great stuff Nancy.........
There's no need to suck up, Doris.

(And I haven't forgotten the "throttle lock incident", cheesedick! There'll be hell to pay.)

I lived in NorCal in the late 70's, and SoCal most of the 80's, then followed the job trail to Florida where I've been ever since....
fljab, I'd guess you miss the mountains the most. Hard to live without mountains - if you've got a bike.

I'm jealous, my streak of hitting Yo-Sa-MITE on opening day is definitely over as I missed last year opening day too, had a good streak going :-(
John, I half-expected to see you on your ManStrom around the next corner. (Where's that thing been?)

Ain't monitor pass some good fun this time of year -I was on it a couple of weeks ago.
Yup, it's much better before it gets hot, and all those tar snakes get "squiggly" ...and scare the **** out of me.

...you manage to perfectly frame a barn in the rear view's?
madjack, I laughed when I saw that photo!

Even a dork gets lucky sometimes, huh?

...But enough about my *** life.

What a gorgeous day in one of the most beautiful places in this part of the Milky Way.
Indeed, Bandit! And you oughta smell the pines up there!

Thanks, all.

Back to work.

Ugh.

Normally, as you know, I'm very forthcoming with my praises of your photos, but, dammit, this is just showing off. You're at speed, approaching a turn, and yet you manage to perfectly frame a barn in the rear view's? Oh, come on!! How can we (your humble minions) possibly aspire to that?

I call ********! I see no speedometer needle! I'm guessin' 15 mph tops. Or, more likely, he parked the bike and was running towards it  .

But, other than that, not a bad set of pics! Kudos! ;)

Oh, this makes me frigging jealous. (And part of the reason I've sent a couple of resumes out to California again... It'd be nice to get home.)

Wonderful photos and looked like a fantastic ride. Wish I were there!

Nice pics and I'm sure the ride was too. Thank you for sharing.

MsNASCAR and I are heading over Tioga Pass next week from 395 on our way to the NASCAR race on the 20th in Sonoma. Maybe I can post some pics too.

Taken a couple years ago
