...you start your FJR after it has been sitting all day and the first bar on the temp guage lights up immeditately!

It was 121º F last Sunday between Maricopa City and Chandler... Boy, that was freaking hot!!!!

I had to hug the engine to cool off...

I guess I can't complain about the 104 deg in Denver today.

It is way too freaking hot for me.

Going to Florida to cool off

lawinter,

There is more truth then fiction in your statement. Earlier today, the temperature in northern AL was hotter then it was at mom's house in southern FL. Of course, now that we have had our afternoon thunderstorm, things are back to normal. But most times, it is cooler at mom's house in FL then it is here in the summer time. Can't tell you how many times Mrs. Penguin and I have thought about "getting out of the heat" and going even more south!

Short hijack in progress........

I hear from my folks all the time that it's hotter in the summertime and warmer in the winter in Denver vs Ocala.

Going down to celebrate my Mom's 83rd and to fish in the Gulf with my Dad.

I won't be riding but worth every minute.

.............You may now resume your regularly scheduled thread.

You know it's hot when... You ride up to Homo Depot to buy some ABS cement for your fenda extenda. When you return to your bike you notice a slightly more that usual lean. The dang kickstand was sunk into the asphalt up to that appendage sticking out. No wonder i see bikes use those kickstand plates. I will park on the concrete up by the tractor display like all of the other bikes.

You guys should all ride north......you will not have these problems!
I've been to your part of the world in the winter. To darn cold for me. I also noticed a lot of the northern FJR riders complain all winter about not being able to ride. In N California it is mostly a year round activity.

Great place to buy a low mileage used bike....they only get riding half the year......Somehow that does make me feel better

Or you hit four bars commuting to work at 6:30am.  It was 83 degrees yesterday morning coming to work.  whew
My fellow rider, I start my day at 90ºF at 5:30 am!!!! :eh: and it could be 10:00 pm and the thermo indicates a leasurely 100ºF  ... then again, it's a dry heat :D

If you want to experience the feeling of riding in the AZ summer, just find the nearest 18 wheeler, have the driver crank it up and rev it up, then breath out of the exhaust pipe. That'll give you an idea of Arizona's "dry heat" feeling :cownoy: I love it!!!

The glue on velcro is all mushy and sliding off. The heavy industrial glue that was used to replace the velcro glue is also melting and sliding off. ...fricken hot!

102F with 86% humidity yesterday

98F with 83% humidy right now at 8:56am!

Vulcan,

The roads north of the Artic circle suck! Not many gas/comfort stations either, Snowflake!!!! :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh:

PENGUIN... Dude... you're here. I was wondering if you'd find this place. Did you get my EZboard PM? EOM may be tough for me... I'm trying to finish building a cabin on Smith Lake. If I finish before mid-Sept.... I'm there. If not... NOT.

Glad your're here.

BTW... have you seen southernmage lately? He and AZbikergirl were the others I hoped would find this place.

I'd like to set up a ride after the cabin is done... It would be fun to do a North AL. ride and chill on the lake.

Steve
