That was fun! I dont even think I have ever seen the movie.
And you call yourself an American... :) A classic American Christmas story from the perspective on a 10 year old Mid-Western boy. We watch it every year.
Keep your eye out on Christmas Eve - on TBS (I think) they have "24 Hours Of A Christmas Story." Yes, they show that movie for 24 hours straight.

And, yes, it's a classic, filmed in Cleveland, OH.

And I had 81 bounces and 4 accidents.

And I had a Red Ryder when I was growing up.

And yes, I damn near shot my eye out a time or two.

I had a Red Ryder too. Still have a Crossman air gun for those pesky varmints in the back yard.

The part I don't get about the game is the multiple pumping of the gun.

As I vaguely recall, the RR was a 1 pump and done deal.

My Crossman I can crank up to about 20 pumps for taking on the bigger game.

The Red Ryder was and still is a one cock, spring piston rifle. It produces somewhere in the range of 280 ft/sec muzzle velocity. At 10 yards its accuracy is about a can or pine cone size grouping.

Fred, I'll try to remember to give you a hand full of Beeman Crow-Magnum pellets to help suppress those back yard varmints. These pellets are wicked accurate and deliver more energy than just about any other pellet made for general shooting.
