1. Banff, AB, Canada

2. New Zealand

3. Swiss Alps

Honorable Mention: Ireland

Here's my top 3 places I have no desire in ever going to.

1. Flint, MI

2. Las Vegas, NV

3. Anywhere in the Middle East

I had one which was the Going to the Sun Road which we did last year and the year before sans the FJR. However if I had known how spectacular Mt Ranier was that would have been on the list. Now we know and we have been. If I were to add one more in since the request was 3, Flight 93 National Memorial is up there. We have been and we will be going back on our May trip. One does not go to F93 for the sights (the roads getting ther are pretty nice thou), but I will tell ya, you will come away a different person.

Good thread !!

Man you should include Ireland in that too, loads of mountains here :)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mountains_in_Ireland +1, Gunny JimmyFJR; most of these Barbarians don't even realize that Eire has mountains, Damned Infidels. New Zealand and the Swiss Alps are also great riding destinations, but I have already ridden them before - even got the T-Shirts.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slane Since the Stanley Clan is from Slane on the River Boyne in Meath County, I want to return someday to ride the Emerald Isle by Moto. So enough Blarney, here is Papa Chuy's List:

1) Ireland, preferably with Miss Tyler, Old Michael, ShinyPartsUp and Reno John; The FJR Forum ******* Fenians!

2) Morocco, I want to ride The Marrakech Express. https://www.edelweissbike.com/en/allTours/true/cont/afr/morocco-tour.html

3) Australia, so I can drink Foster's with Surly and Thug; throw a few shrimps on the barbie too!

Hard to narrow down to 3.

1. Europe. I was born in the Netherlands and my family had to move back to the States within the first year of my life and I've never made it back. I intend to go there, but to tour by bike would be incredible. Seeing the surrounding areas including the alps would top it off. Yea, that's a big general area, but hey, we only get three options, right?

2. New Zealand. Obvious

3. Japan. I'm somewhat of a history buff so that combined with an interesting culture and the landscape makes it seem like a great place to visit by bike.

Having done the Scottish highlands last year, New Zealand moves to the top of the list. Next in line would be Europe then South America.

The moon on an electric dirt bike. I get sea sick, so that might be a problem in space. :puke:

Pebble Beach golf course on my Husky at night. :poster_oops:

Round the world with my wife on Zumas staying in 4 star hotels and buying everything we need on the road. :scooter:

If your're gonna go, go big!

1. New Zealand

2. yrup

3. Tierra Del Fuego
Uh Dude, regarding your #2: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=141814&st=0 We still have two openings for the FJR Forum Alps Extreme Tour on August 8th. You may have to room with yamafitter and SacramentoMike, but how HARD can that be!

Yep, unfortunately all these things require money, which you seem to have and I don't. So throw a Scot a bone and pay for it will ya?
Beemerdons, the Mit Romney of the forum! ..."I'm not rich, I only make $600,000.00 a year"

J/K! :D

It is "bucket list" not wish list!

Gotta be Wales where the Price name originated. And if on that trip would have to include Scotland and Ireland. whoo hoo. PM.

GR

I'm guessing these don't have to be places I could ride my FJR to?

So, to keep this 'doable':

USA (I've only been down the west coast and back :( )

Costa Rica

India

BTW

Banff area is very nice, but a tourist trap and very overrated - IMHO.

I 'm not surprised no one mentioned Iceland but if you have any dual-sport experience whatsoever this is a must do.

I've ridden in the Italian Alps but not the Dolomites which I'm taking care of this summer with the Donald.

I've also ridden New Zealand which also should be on everyone's bucket list.

Here is what I have on my own Bucket List ...

  1. Isle of Mann TT Races
  2. South Africa
  3. Peru / Argentina

Wow...your the first person I've ever heard describe it this way. IMO a lot of places that have natural beauty eventually have the problem of too many people going there to see it i.e. Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon...etc. But each place can be like paradise if you know where to go and when to go.

People that only go to the easy to get to highly "tourist" parts of any National Park don't really get to experience the true wild essence of the park and it's surroundings. You have to get off the pavement and go into the back country, walk the lesser known trails and not go at peak times of the year.

Also too I find it interesting in general that no matter where we live we always want to go to some far off destination. There is tremendous beauty in the mountains a few hours from my house and I probably take it for granted. Also for example people that live in San Fran and can ride up HWY 1 along the coast anytime they want may want to visit Montana instead to see some different scenery. Meanwhile those that live in Montana might want to go visit San Fran and ride up Hwy 1!

We always want to go somewhere else than from where we live...even if we live in a beautiful area ourselves.
