Yuasa YT14B-BS battery - does not fit

This battery is listed by Yuasa as fitting 2003-12 FJR1300.

It did not fit my 2006. It is too short, plus the top niche is too far from the right side. Relieving the opening on the top retainer plate was not enough to get it to fit.

It is now held in with a cable tie.

Is it actually a Yuasa brand battery? Or is it a knock off brand?

Here are the specs:

If the dimensions are the same as above then it should have fit.

^^^^^ My same thoughts. If it is Yuasa, did you actually get the correct YT14B-BS or another P/N by mistake? All it takes is one letter to be wrong and the battery won't fit right.

If it is not Yuasa then it is a very good counterfeit. Box and battery say Yuasa and the right number. Bought it from Powersport Superstore in TX.

Maybe Yuasa had some temporary production problems that became my problem.

Biggest problem was the 3/16" larger dimension from the right side to the indent than the OEM battery replaced.

Check the dimensions against the ones I posted above.

Maybe there was a a screw-up at Yuasa? If so, you should be able to get a replacement of the correct size from Yuasa USA or ideally from the place you bought it from.

The dimensions are close enough; the only dimension that is causing a problem is not listed: the distance from the right side to the top indent. On the new battery it is 3/16" more than the OEM.
