I thought about making my reservations for the SoCal Winery/ Ducati museum ride in March, but I wanted to make sure I've got everything straight.
Saturday night March 27: I need a hotel in Fallbrook for one (1) night?

Sunday night March 28: I need a hotel room for one night in Monterey? Are we staying where OM suggested Best Western De Anza Inn in Monterey?

Monday night March 29: I need to make a reservation in Torrance, CA near Richard's house? Where at in Torrance?

I need to know so I can program my GPS!! :buba: Who in the hell uses maps anymore anyway? :buba:
Let's start with your last statement, first: Real Men use maps! GPS is for Girlie-Men! If no one pipes up between now and Sunday at this time, we're going with Fairlaner's Monterey recommendation. Dan, you should send a PM to johnny80s, re: Saturday night March 27 lodgings. Richard will post Torrance hotel information.

There are only a few hotels/motels in Fallbrook. I don't know what they cost and have never stayed at either one but here are two of the better ones.

Hillside Inn Fallbrook, CA

1608 South Mission Road,

Fallbrook, California 92028-4110

Hotel Direct : 760 723 1127

Pala Mesa Golf Resort

2001 Old Highway 395

Fallbrook, CA 92028

760.728.5881

There are some cheap skanky motels too but I would not recommend them. Anyone who wants can park their bike at my house and I will run you over to the hotel.

As Greg is gonna stay up here Saturday if he comes Maybe Dan will fit on Johhnys couch??????

Also you do know that you are 100 miles from here so you will need to make and early start Sunday morning.......

I will post the Torrance hotel info shortly.

Fairlaner, two items: 1) It appears to me that the Best Western De Anza Hotel that Old Michael recommends is within close walking distance of pubs and restaurants.

2) Have you, or will you, made/make contact with Don Carver regarding this Hwy. 1 Ride? I have dcarver's mailing address, but I could not locate his phone number.

I will talk to Don about meeting us on Sunday and the Anza hotel is fine it is only one night after all.

Looks like there is a Dennys next door.

Super 8 Motel this is the motel in Torrance that is right up the street.

Thank you, Richard! I'll call Dan Compton, Big-D, and see if he wants to be my room mate for Monterey and Torrance; you enjoy your nights with SkooterG!

Also, the Hotel de Anza Best Western is the designated lodging for Monterey Sunday night and the Super 8 Torrance is the hotel of choice for Monday night.

I will amend the first post in this thread to reflect these decisions! Thanks Fairlaner, for your immense help in putting this Coast Highway One Ride together!!

There is another option that is much closer to the touristy stuff......Best Western Victoria Inn 5 blocks from the Aquarium.

Do we have a member living closer to Monterey than George, Khunajawdge, in Los Osos? Wonder if we've a Santa Cruz or Salinas member who can investigate this?
Hi Don and Richard! I am spooning on a tire today and missing a local ride up that way! I'll see if someone who is heading to Monterey can give me a report on that Motel and get back to you later today.

OK, Here's what I got from Robert Van Houtte in Monterey. He's lived there for over 55 years.

"Of the 3 listed I would go for the Victorian Inn, which is located just a couple blocks above cannery row. Good food and drinks available. The other two are located in north monterey and really would be limited in choices of places to eat and drink, within walking distance of course. Any other choices, give me a jingle."

There ya go?
