Okay Zonies, there've been some changes; so, please read the following info carefully. Remember AZ BMW Riders, these are Kalifornians and they ride Jap Crap!

"Jeez Marie, Roy; are you sure Neil San Diego is not helping you plan out this goat feck!!! This ride is starting to smell like one of Neil's Infamous Soup Sandwiches!

Next thing you know, johnny80s and FJRBluesman will start posting their gay male **** photos on the thread. OK, we stay with Ramada Old Town Hotel in Temecula and Nessie Burgers in Fallbrook! https://classic.mapquest.com/maps?city=Fallbrook&state=CA&address=4760+Highway+76&zipcode=92028-9006&country=US&latitude=33.329075&longitude=-117.161543&geocode=ADDRESS https://www.yelp.com/biz/nessys-burgers-fallbrook https://classic.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Temecula&1s=CA&1a=28980+Old+Town+Front+St&1z=92590-2810&1y=US&1l=33.484499&1g=-117.1438&1v=ADDRESS&2c=Fallbrook&2s=CA&2a=4760+Highway+76&2z=92028-9006&2y=US&2l=33.329075&2g=-117.161543&2v=ADDRESS "

SoCal Ride Monday the 27th

Meet at Temecula Shell @ SW corner of 15 and 79

Meet at Nessie Burgers (Mobil) @ NW corner of 15 and 76

(the exit to Pala casino off 15).

FYI, this is the same meet-up as the January 2010 Pines to Palms ride and for the AZ crew, about 12 miles south of Temecula

.... so your hotel in Temecula is still the best option, although the Pala Casino has a big 'ol hotel as well.

On looking over the mileage and timing on this planned ride, it was too short for a full morning.

I'm re-routing to include rte. 76 up to Palomar (stop) and Warner Springs (top up), then as planned: Pines to Palms (stop at lookout), La Quinta (lunch: early option), Borrego (lunch: later option), etc.

This is about +/-4 hours to La Quinta including three stops, so the 8am KSU stays as is.

I'll post up the map shortly.

Bump with Changes
https://www.weather.c...Page&cm_ite=Map Pack your rain gear, Lads; might be showers on Sunday, but clear on Monday!
Can a Lassie join in too? I'm looking to meet y'all at Borrega Springs for lunch. Do you have a restaurant in mind?

Kasey
Lunch is in La Quinta at

Fisherman's Market & Grill

Borrego would be too late for a few reasons. Come join us anyway... we'll be riding in about noon.
When are you going to inform them about the "riding naked" part of this lizard nutts?
I've got your lizard nuts hanging, Ya *******!

If you wanted to make a long day out of this on Monday, December 27 and not spend Sunday night in Temecula: We're stopping at The Fisherman's Restaurant in La Quinta, California for lunch at Noon.

https://www.fishermans.com/laquinta.php After lunch we will peel off from the Kali FJR's at Salton City and take CA 86 and Hwy. 111 down to El Centro and Interstate 8; then slab it back to Phoenix!

From Ride Leader Roy - McRide:

"Morning RTE route....

Fishermans in La Quinta, shown as the 'E' tag, opens Mondays at 11am.

Good food, fast service, so that's the lunch stop at around noon

Considered Borrego 'F' as a late option for lunch but It'll be too late to eat for most of us (not out before 2:30"

Instead of dropping all the way down to El Centro, you can stay on 78 through Brawley; it splits from 115 to the east (its a turn off, so watch for it!) and goes through the Imperial Sand Dune Recreation Area (aka Glamis). Its the largest set of sand dunes in the country, and should have quite a bit of activity going on there Monday, with the early arrivals for the New Year's weekend. 78 will eventually meet back with the 10 in Blythe.

Great Minds Think Alike, Bill!!!

S1 - The Mount Laguna Road is incredible, one of Best Motorcycle Roads in the West!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_County_Routes_in_zone_S Great info on Sunrise Scenic Byway.

Don,

What's your route into San Diego on Sunday? If you don't have one, there's several routes I can suggest from I-8 to Julian ranging from some twisties to very twisty (think the road to Canyon Lake). I could meet you where you exit the Interstate.

I learned very quickly there are no bad roads in San Diego County... the whole thing is in the mountains!

Bill
My plan was to take Interstate 8 to Pine Valley and then head north on 79 to Julian, CA.
That's what I was going to suggest. For sweepers and views, take the S1.

Breakfast at Nessy Burgers just before Going over Palomar Mtn & on to Fishermans in La Quinta for RTE lunch.

Good news. My bike is running correctly again. While I was checking the charging system I found that one of the plugs to the rectifier was not seated. When I pushed it in it clicked and seated. I did a test ride and all was well. It was one of the connectors from the new wiring harness that was installed when I had a ground spider failure.

I am going riding tomorrow. Going to hit Alpine for some Calamari with Manwhore and maybe Cometman.

Woohoo!

NOTE: I have reposted this here just to piss off FJRBluesman! Bite us, Simon!

To all the Southern California FJR Forum Crew: Many thanks to all of you for a wonderful day of motorcycle riding with a great group of guys. Fisherman's Restaurant was great! Special thanks to Roy - McRide for organizing this event and kudos to Richard - Fairlaner for being the Ride Master. Dave, Robert and I are safely back home.

From Bill Z.:

I met Don, Dave and Robert yesterday in Pine Valley, CA and led them through the twisties into Julian and then on to Fallbrook, CA where they spent the night at the Comfort Inn. Pine Valley is up in the mountains east of San Diego. It was 65 degrees in San Diego and dropped to 45 in Pine Valley. I got a hot coffee while waiting for the guys. They rolled in 10 minutes after I got there and were all cold. They all got hot coffee and added layers. Dave asked me,

"Is it going to get any cooler going to Julian?"

"It might get a little cooler but it will definitely not get warmer!

After Julian the twilight faded and we came down the mountains west of Santa Ysabel. It was great: it's dark, twisting mountains roads (think the road to Canyon Lake) and fog. I'm sure Don will add more later.

Just before we pulled out of Pine Valley:

All - Please ride safe and have a great ride tomorrow. Say hello to all for me.

Oh dear - I missed the La Quinta lunch gathering although I left Yuma in plenty of time to meet up. What time you did you get there?

I spent quite some time riding through every clump of restaurants off Washington and never did find Fisherman's even though I knew it was near Simon. I asked directions several times and was told "just over there" but no joy so I left about 2 to ride back. Disappointing not to meet up but it was a good day for a ride anyways.

Kasey aka "U-Turn" ;)
