At the end of last season everything was working fine. However, when I put the Zumo on the cradle on the bike a few days ago... Nothing...
It will charge when it's in the car cradle and all of the functions preform just fine. No locking or similar software bug type problems. I even reloaded the latest software version from Garmin WebUpdater thinking that there may have been a bug. Still didn't work. When I run the unit off the battery, sitting on the mororcycle cradle, the fuel gauge isn't enabled, so the Zumo doesn't even know that the motorcycle cradel is present, much less receiving the charging/operation voltage.
Here's all of the things I've checked:
Battery - OK
Connections - OK
Fuse - OK
Leads to the cradle - OK
Plug that goes into the cradle - OK
Voltage across various pins - Present
So I'm sure that the cradle is getting and putting out voltage, I just don't have a pin out voltage map to check against. I also cannot rule out that the Zumo itself doesn't have a problem...
Does anyone have a pin out voltage map for the Zumo's motorcycle cradle? Anyone with a Zumo and a motorcycle mount live close to Indianapolis or Cincinnati that I could try my unit on their cradle? I'd make it easy on you by meeting you and would even buy you lunch for your time.
I love my Zumo and running it on battery this riding season just won't cut it...
