I heard that these were going to be heavily discounted this Fall as Nuvi gets all of the R&D $$ from here on.

Can you turn a brother onto a smokin' deal? No huge rush as no more big trips planned this Fall.

I have heard of 550's going for as low as $300 at Best Buy in store only and not all stores. I believe they are on clearance

I've seen the c550 on Buy.com clicky for $179 new and $139 for a refurb. They are not for bikes however from what I understand. That said a couple of riders I've ridden with do use them, you just have to cover them with a baggie when it rains. I'm new to this so be nice. :huh:

Thanks Tom, but I should have repeated in the body of this thread that it's a Zumo 550 I'm looking for. The C550 is an older tech, non-m/c-specific unit as you mentioned.

I have an older Magellan now which is "weather resistant" but as I found out on this summer's unusually wet tour, that means get the ziplock out as soon as the humidity starts to climb! It works just fine, but if I can score a m/c-specific unit at a smokin price I will, if not no worries!

I have e-mailed my son in Milwaukee and asked him to check the Best Buy nearest to him to see if they have any clearance units as suggested by Steve above.
