I am looking at a zumo. Is the blue tooth worth it? Do I need voice prompts or is looking at the screen ok? I don't think I will use the mp3, just the navagation.

Thanks for any imput.

What, BT for phone or just the turn by turn? Might be overkill if you don't want the MP3... I just got my 550 today and sync'd my phone to it. Freaky-deaky, but it works! Too, Jeff @ SBE says that Starcom is soon to release a BT module soon to render the helmet tether obsolete. Me thinks I'm gonna like this new gizmo.

I have a Zumo 550 and I say the BT worth it.

Not just for the navigation prompts, the POIs (Point of Interest) are worth hearing the prompts. Just the other day, I was cruising along and my Zumo went "DING" I looked down to a warning to tell me there was a traffic camera one mile ahead to catch speeders.

I do use the MP3 player. I am currently wired to the unit. I am waiting on the BT Starcom to release before I go wireless.

What did you use to hardwire? Did it come with the zumo or did you order it extra? I would like voice promts if possible, but at a reasonable cost.

That head set looks to be perfect for me! Then if I get the blue tooth, I will be able to use my blue tooth phone, but what do I need to be able to plug the headset into the zumo?

The headset is complete and plugs into the zumo cradle.

Jeff (Sport Bike Effects- AKA: Candyman) - set me up for my Zumo install (including XM radio) with mount, Starcom, headsets and all the right cables and connectors to make things work. The system is nothing less than amazing and Jeff really nailed it by giving me the right cables, parts and, most importantly, his installation wisdom.

Thanks Jeff! Everything is installed and all systems are GO! :clapping:

Blue tooth for Starcom!!!! Pray, do tell.
I have not been talking about it because I don't need the onslaught of "when is it coming?" questions. The latest I have heard is September. The Bluetooth adapter will work in conjunction with any and all current helmet sets and will not make any of the current users equipment obsolete. There is no pricing or other product information available at this time.

Are we there yet? :p
