The basics are nailed down. The Maggie Valley Inn is the same location that hosted us in 2013/2014. Room rate is $99/night plus tax. Please ensure you mention that you’re with the Yamaha FJR EOM group when calling. Also note, this location requires a deposit equal to your first night’s stay with the reservation.

Local attractions include easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wheels Through Time Museum, the Casino in Cherokee, NC as well as some of the very best-est, twisty-est roads in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Website. The website has been migrated to a new platform (Wordpress) and the domain has been pointed to the new site. Going to www.fjreom.com should land you at the new site. The site is a work in progress with more features and updates coming. With the shift to a Wordpress based site, it opens up the possibility of integrating registration and merchandise integration. I am working slowing working towards the goal of not needing Eventbrite.com for registration this year. Tim – aka Designflaw06 – has been a great help in getting me educated on all this interwebs stuff!!

My goal is to have registration open on July 1st, 2018.

Local and have a ‘must see’ – like Tallulah Falls, Georgia?? Let us know here, I’ll get links built into the website.

Update – Maggie Valley Inn – Room Status
I spoke to Beth at the hotel today. They are working with the evacuee’s to ensure the rooms reserved by our group are available. There could be a delay in departure of the current guests, based on the conditions of eastern NC. Right now, for Thursday arrivals, they are 5 rooms short. Beth has offered these options for us;

1 – Smoking rooms are available – anyone willing to change from a non-smoking to a smoking room would receive two nights comp’d (no room charge).

2 – Anyone willing to take a room across / down the street at the Laurel Park Inn, will receive two nightss at no charge.

3 – Anyone who wishes to cancel their reservation (even though it is past the cancelation window) would receive a refund.

If anyone is interested in taking one of these options outlined above, please get in touch with me asap.

Again – we ask for your patience with check in on Thursday. Arriving / checking in after 4pm would be very helpful and allow the housekeeping staff time to get the rooms turned over and ready.

We always have a conflict with the EOM because of the Indianapolis Irish Festival. I am going to work real hard to make it work out somehow this year.

I know registration isn't open yet, but I'm committing to it this year. Hotel reservation made.

CFO may take a year off.

I'm hoping to make this my first EOM. There's a campground just down the road from the hotel. I could walk ....er.... stumble there if needed.

I know this area very well. The "unknown" twisties are amazing riding.

I'm also making this my first EOM, but Maggie Valley is my back yard. home base is going to be in Asheville for me.

It's on my calendar and I'm hoping to be able to attend again this year although don't know if it will be 5-1/2 weeks again this time... I've actually bought a 2nd Spyder that currently is in Alabama (Turk has graciously agreed to store it for me) so I will have a bike on each coast! B)

It was a really great opportunity, price, and situation... figure I'd give it a go as I'd like to do more riding on that side of the country... if it doesn't work, I can always sell it.

Glad to hear it, Nate!!! I'm getting up there in years, and the shampoo flows pretty good at these shin digs!!! I may need ya to point me in the right direction back to camp!

Well if that's the case who knows where we might end up!!!

We're planning to come out to EOM this year, but we'll have to find some place we can stash the kids for a week (first option aka grandparents fell through already). Looking forward to the trip!
