I have never seen a sporting spectacle so energy packed as NHL playoff games. These games are just incredible to me!

GO Avs!

Use to have season's tickets to the Hartford Whalers (remember them?). Completely lost interest after the NHL's recent vacation. Sorry, they've lost this fan, just like MLB did during their past vacations.

The Oilers-Wings game 7 was fantastic, for a few good reasons:

  1. The Oilers came back from 2-0 deficit at the beginning of the third period, scoring the game winner with 1:06 left in regulation;
  2. Everyone outside of Michigan loves to see the Red Wings lose;
  3. OLN used the CBC Hockey Night in Canada feed, so you got good camerawork and intelligent play-by-play, instead of the blathering yahoos that normally call the games on OLN.
If the Ducks pull it out in Calgary, all four of the lower seeds in the Western Conference will advance to the second round.

Big +1 on this! Mighty Ducks fan here. They're up 2-0 after 2 periods in game 7 at Calgary. I went to game 4 at Anaheim. You could re-invent electricity with the crowd energy :yahoo: .

Yes, I remember the Hartford Whalers, now current Carolina Hurricanes who are 2nd seed in the East and just about to start their second round of playoffs after knocking off the Canadiens in 7. They have a rookie goalie, Cam Ward, that is just playing like he wants to beat Roy's records! Remember Roy? Wah.

The game is better post lockout. Remember, unlike baseball, the owners locked out, there was no strike. They needed the year off to come to agreement true...but it was worth it. Now the NHL is strong financially and the game is better for it. In the West, the bottom 4 seeds beat the top 4 seeds. Since when has the NBA or any other pro sport been competitive enough to generate those kind of results? Never! It's a first for hockey too! The game is faster, more skillfull and more evenly matched than ever before and it's resulting in more exciting games and higher scoring.

If you stepped away, come back the the new and better NHL.

Here's to the Oilers beating the Red Wings!!!

Ducks knocked off the Division champs of the most competitive division in the NHL (Northwest) and now they go on to face the Avalanche. Selanne vs. Sakic. Neidermeier vs. Blake...Penner vs Konowalchuk...gonna be a fantastic series!

Oilers and Sharks look to be the fastest/biggest skating teams around and they are about to have a head on collision! Should be good! Both Toskala and Rollo have their games on track and it should be a shooting and goaltending show case!

Heck...I didn't hardly mention the East! Ottawa, the team that 2 years ago played without paychecks while the owners went bankrupt, they knew somebody would buy the team sooner or later. Well, perhaps kharma will pay them back this year with 16 wins???

Carolina under the Karmanos family, Rutherford and Laviolette have done extremely well this year showing their cinderella appearance in the finals recently was no fluke. This organization is quality.

New Jersey...the best thing about them is that they used to be the Colorado Rockies. Then they moved. I'm an Avs fan, I just can't bring myself to say anything nice about them. Stevens was an ass and Bordeur is an ass too.

Buffalo. Their Captain, and ex Av, Drury certainly isn't their only player. That team skates fast and is lethal. Just ask Philly!

Can you tell who I like? I grew up in Denver and I was actually a Nordiques fan before they came to Denver! Do you have any clue how happy I was to see my team come from Quebec to my home town and win the cup their first year in town??? Now Denver has the longest running sell out streak in the NHL with 480+ consecutive sold out games in Denver.

Anyway...if you read all this, now you know I like more than just motorcycles and my wife

Hockey! :yahoo: :nhl_crach: :nhl_fight: :nhl2:

I stopped following hockey when the Penguins switched from the blue uniforms to jump on the Pirate/Steeler black/yellow bandwagon. Although, seeing the Bruins get all PO'd about that change was pretty funny.

Well, the Pengs sure were fun to watch this year with some of their new talent.

The Bruins gave up one of the top 3 Centers in the NHL, who is now taking the Sharks well into the playoffs. Where are the Bruins? Hmm...

What I love about hockey is that the team that lays down the most is genrally the team that wins.

My sport of choice? No doubt - UFC! You just gotta love a good old-fashioned smack in the head!

Well, when it's not your head, anyway.

I don't think my cable company is even carrying the NHL playoffs between all the NBA and MLB games I see on their everyday.

Go DucksBeen to every home playoff game so far. Sorry, but the AVs are on borrowed time.

Wish I could afford to go to more of these. VERY pricey! I got to one of the Calgary games.

And I went out on a limb and bought a ticket for Ducks-Avs game 7. Club level. And, yes, I would prefer there not be one.

Avs are going down. Of course, I can't say much....my team didn't even make the playoffs and my alternate team lost to col. Woe is me.

Borduer is clearly one of the best netminders ever...I still don't like him. Most NHL players are very humble and gracious. He has not been.

I was hoping for the Rangers. What a great year they had. I hope Jagr can stay healthy for you guys.

I think the Avs have what it takes in skill, and seem to miss out in the gumption arena. I hope they can find motivation somewhere. If they do...well, I can still hope.

Sabres: Wow! Miller was amazing posting 43 saves against the hottest scoring team of the NHL regular season. They have the drive, spirit and skill to make it. I like what I see there.

Even though I am hoping for the Avs to pull out a miracle, I think we'll see a California Western Conference Final. Sharks are going this year IMO.

So...my guess? Sharks vs Carolina and the Canes win it. There is plenty of opportunity for me to be proven wrong, especially with the way the Sabres are playing.Frankly, Ottawa could win 4 out of the next 5. I love hockey!!!

What a game tonight between the Ducks and Avalanche!

OT finish 4-3 Ducks win. Avs rookie defense made a critical turnover and the Ducks took advantage of it. Joffery Lupul scored all four Ducks goals.

quack, quack, quack..... :yahoo:

Hey, maybe the avs can try doing what the wild did several years ago. Try winning two series while being down 0-3. Oops....that was against the avs too.....nevermind. Not going to happen. lol

GDam MF*cking Senators

Good on ya Buffalo 'cause Ottawa just does'nt want to win this

One more game and we will be looking for a new coach.

Did any one sign Pat Quin yet

Pissed Sens Fan.
