Its going to be very difficult for the Oilers to come back after having a 3-0 lead in game 1 and losing. And getting hammered in Game 2. Possible but not probable. I, however, will be glued to my set for as many minutes as these great athletes can give me over the remaining games.

I smell sweep. Oilers are toast.

Me too. Neither of these are "my" team. I just love the sport, and the conditioning that hockey players is second to none. The pain and hardship that they endure is the same. These guys are playing because they love this game.

I was a soccer player growing up and my dream was to play for the NASL. That league folded when I turned 16. It wasn't until I was stationed in the Azores that I was able to play pro soccer. I played for a 3rd division team that won the championship at that level and got bumped up to second division.

They paid me. Would I have done it for free? YES!!!

It's a pleasure seeing a sport played for the love of the sport and I can truly tell that is exactly what we see when we watch hockey. I can't say that about all pro sports. In fact, I can't even watch soccer even though that was the sport I played. The manner in which it is played today is an embarrasment to any player that remembers the days when the sport was for gentlemen rather than spoiled, cheating braggarts.

 :lol2: That's why they went on strike.

The games are good, and fast, but bye bye Oilers. You can't win if you don't have a goalie.

The owners locked them out, there was no strike . Understand that the Owners and the NHL Players Assoc (union) couldn't reach an agreement. As the businessmen tried to figure things out, the players were in Europe and lower division teams playing the sport they love.

Sorry...just saw the thread back up....they lost tonight....now they need to win three in a row.....the scrappers better wake up or minnesota won't want rollie back next season.

I think the Oiler's back up has been playing well. The last two games have been goalie battles and they split them. So at this point, it's about who can find the right time and space to do something great, or who gets the lucky bounce. For a 3-1 series, I think these teams are remarkably even matched. Except for the 1 blow out, all the games have had one goal differences.

The last time I was interested in Hockey was when Cincinnati Stingers were in existence.

I heard that a Carolina team was doing well and started following them about a month ago, evidently

they are pretty good. I watched the game last night (Carolina 2 - Edmonton 1)and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I forgot how fast the game actually is................amazing that they can even see that little puck, yet along

catch it.

Now, if they could only incorporate motorcycle into the equation...........

Oiler 4, Hurricanes zip!!! Series tied at 3. Oilers are toast??? Sweep??? Where are you doomsday prophets? I smell an upset on Monday. Huge momentum going for the Oilers now and they are finally getting the power play working. Man, this is great hockey, I am so enjoying this great final and the excellent coverage.

I am impressed, I thought they were toast. It would be cool if they win, and if they play like they did before the playoffs/like Sat, they will win.

Their best goalie is not playing though. If you ask me Markkanen is just lucky. He does some goofy stuff and likes to impersonate frying bacon.

crapstix. the Oilers are not lookin good . :(

Oilers just didn't want it bad enough....you could tell by the way they just dumped the puck in....pay to play hockey sucks....

I guess Roloson is finished for the year. Man, I sure hope Ty Conklin can get over his stupid rookie miscue and do the job that needs doing to get this team to the 4 W's.

Wow, what a game last night. Bad ending but incredibly exciting. GO OILERS!!!

This sport is a 10 times more exciting to watch than the NBA, MLB or NFL ( in my less than humble opinion).
I think that Conklin mistake was just as much the defender's fault and miscommunication like that often happens between the defenders and a back up goalie who they aren't used to playing with. Oh well.

Canes sure put it to the Oilers last night. Ouch. Well, I have a feeling the Oilers will explode at home for game 3 and the Canes will come back for game 4 and we'll end up with a 3-1 series coming back to Raliegh and that the Oilers will win game 5 in Raliegh and lose game 6 in Edmonton. I hope it goes to game 7 because I hate it when the visiting team wins the series.

As ever, I'm picking the Canes to win.
Wow...I was exactly right (as far as my dream sequence) about how the last 5 games would play out! I love it when a dream comes true! Congrats Canes!!! Great series and both teams were phenominal. Both teams have my respect and they both deserved to be there playing for the cup. The West was represented well by its 8th seed! The East took it again...next year maybe...The Avalanche!!!
