TurboDave had the misfortune wisdom to call me with his daily SitReps.

I'll do the best reporting I can. Where ever I'm sketchy on facts, I'll make up some good lies. ;)

Moved from original thread here...

Got a call from TurboDave Sunday morning. He's doing fine and decided to do the "half-a-combo bonus in each time zone" route for the SPANK II. He had an interesting start which included the Bouchon Bistro RTE with GunMD. I guess we just missed Matt and Heidi by 50 minutes or so. I'm probably screwing this up but IIRC, Dave made fast tracks to Colorado City, AZ then on to Winslow, AZ and was on his way to points East. It sounds like a doable plan and Dave was in great spirits.

TurboDave called this morning. He sounds great!

He's been getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night in motels. (Hmmm... Stopping to go fast. Where have I heard that before? Tip #11)

Turbo ran into a patch of frog-strangling rain in Arkansas but with those "Eyes of God" auxiliary lights, he had no problem seeing (or being seen!) He was calling from a motel about 90 miles West of Memphis, TN. He's been following I40 and making a bee-line for Atlanta, GA for his Eastern time zone bonus.

He gave no indication that he's running low on cigars so he should be fine for a few thousand miles. :big_boss:

:clapping: He also made the RTE bonus Sunday at Hells Kitchen up on the Ortega Hwy in Southern California on his way from Henderson NV to Colorado City. :clapping:

Go TurboDave, my HERO!

Keep them cigars lit, the coffee brewing, the piss tube clear and just ride, young man, just ride! :yahoo:

I received a call from Turbo this morning at 07:15 PDT. He was calling from Russellville, AR after 7 hours of good sleep. He stated that he woke up feeling rested and great. He was getting ready to make his call in bonus and then get back on the road heading for the barn in Tulsa, OK.

Turbo encountered lots of rain in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. He said he got some bad gas in Mississippi that made the bike stutter for awhile but that seems to have gone away now. He made the RTE bonus in Atlanta, GA by having a burger in Ann's Snack Shack. Turbo has all four time zones covered now. He said his rear tire is getting a little thin but no cord is showing (ahhh... The SkooterG/Fairlaner method of determining tire wear... If it still holds air, it's good to go. ;) )

Turbo said he has a leisurely ride up to Tulsa today where he plans on bagging some local bonii (watch out ladies!). He's feeling great and having a great ride. He said the bike hasn't beaten him up and is looking forward to meeting everyone at the National Meet.

One thing I have learned while riding with Dave. If you follow to close you get Cigar ashes in your eyes. :derisive:

:clapping: Roll on Turbo we are rooting for you

Congratulations Turbo!!!

I had no doubt you would finish this thing. Enjoy the party at the National Meet.
